Last Louisiana stop. When you hear that the poboy is made with Leidenheimer bread that adds some authenticity to the poboy. But I had never seen the actually bread in its basic form until now. Each of those bags has about 10 rolls of bread and they are almost as tall as me. I got the roast beef and my friend got roast beef and shrimp. And by “my friend” I mean the total stranger that was nice enough to share a table with me in this small dining area. This would not be my first choice for a poboy when comparing it to the numerous other options in the city. But, I get why it gets the traffic. A great, historic spot that just feels like New Orleans.

It’s not as big as it looks. Flavor was in point even if the portions were smaller than expected. Friendly service as well.
The bread is perfect. And these are some excellent chips. The restaurant is located inside kinds of a hipster convenience store. I would try every sandwich on the menu.

In San Antonio they serve fideo loco. Which is just fideo with pinto beans. It’s a good addition.

Seems like everyone has the favorite spot in San Antonio for chicken fried steak. I have a list, and this one was close to work today.
Will be back, but not for the nachos. The chips were somehow stale, soggy and chewy all at the same time. But, the pastor taco was solid and the salsa amazing.

Breakfast torta
Like nothing you’ve had before.
Torta with carne asada/ chorizo and bacon. Grilled the Oaxaca cheese with the bollio. Beans, avocado, sour cream, lettuce, salsa. Side of mushroom and tamales.
Made a little salsa.
A new In N Out opened up about 3 exits from the house. Lines are crazy of course, but we decided to check it out. We parked across the street and walked over. Police were directing traffic and the place was packed. Look how many employees they had! Over all only took us about 13 minutes to get our order. Store was super clean even as busy as it was. Single with cheese plain and dry for the kid. 4X4 for me.
Enchiladas were typical Tex Mex. But , this is probably the best sopapilla I’ve ever had. Amazing

Can’t remember the last time I ordered CFS.
Like holding two fluffy pillows with lots of meats and fresh veggies.
Greek chicken, lemon potatoes with feta cheese, asparagus, and a Greek salad.
Ordered the Tex Mex enchiladas (ground beef) and added queso on top.
Made quesadilla with the leftover chicken from last weekend. Quick and easy.
There’s a lot of good burgers 🍔 in Austin, but @jewboyburgers is at the top. Not only the fresh ingredients served up in fun and unique ways..but the staff is the absolute best. I always feel so at home when I visit.
If I see this dish on the menu, I’m ordering it. Every time.
Should have just ordered two. These are some big tacos.
Last stop was the best. Cash only, which is always a good way to start. When they make the torta, the melt cheese on the grill and the put the bread onto that. This pastor taco is probably top 10.
Next spot was much better. Salsa still kinda wimpy but the campenchana taco was over the top. Asada, pastor, potatoes, onions and nopales. Gorditas were tasty and the taco salsa had the right spice.
Did a little Mexican food tour in Louisiana this week, which is always risky. Luckily I didn’t stop my tour after eating here. Pretty sure they used Tostitos chips from a bag. And very tight with guac.
Round two of Mongolian beef.
Mongolian beef is my go to for Chinese. Peng’s is reasonably priced and nice portions.
Too as they aren’t open 24 hours any longer. Luckily I as able to make it in before closing. Good, cheap and quick.
This place gets lots of recommendations, and I finally had a chance to check it out. Tortillas were fresh and tacos were stuffed. Good salsa with the right amount of spice.
For National Cheeseburger Day, I give you the Ghetto Burger. Burger, chili, cheddar cheese and a fried egg.

Tried out a new spot for dinner. @lisa_lasto maiden name is Caudillo, so we had to check it out. I think this was their grand opening. The kid had grilled chicken and I got a taste when I cut it up. Really flavorful and juicy. The wife had ceviche per usual. Enchiladas Potosinas for me. Salsa was good with the green being nice and spicy.
Fideo for @a.lasto to take to work tomorrow.
