What a day?! 😮💨 Spent several hours today with @sambaschutte and @bemoment.us baking cupcakes while helping to raise money to support the LA Foodbank. . We made 2 different cupcake and buttercream recipes to complete the #gentlebeard cupcakes. The class moved at a quick pace while Samba shared his baking talent and regaled us with fun stories from his recent time on set filming #ourflagmeansdeath 🏴☠️. . I don’t usually have trouble making frosting but the blueberry buttercream gave me a bit of a challenge. I ended up making a second batch, which turned out much better. I recently had the pleasure of making bridal shower cookies for a special bride. I went with a theme that was a nod to Cinderella. The design was a slight variation on the “Live Your Dream” set from @blysscookies. I focused on the dress and the carriage cookies from their set. . Happy first day of the new year! 🎉 . My first time making crème brûlée had to be in Mickey shaped ramekins! 😁 It wasn’t too difficult to make which surprised me. I did put too much sugar on top and it was over charred in some places. And I didn’t ice bath when caramelizing the sugar so the custard warmed and became more of a pudding consistency. Great French chefs would give me a failing grade. 😂 .
