The "Big Job" FK2 finally made the dyno last thing today and hit the magic 400! ๐๐๐ Did have a shady flash map on it that somehow pulled all the boost out by the limiter so good improvements to be had We supplied a full package with Injen intake, Airtec intercooler and pipework along with a nice full Cobra exhaust system all fitted and setup by Kieren @ktech_performance With everything fitted and checks done it was onto the dyno for a full custom remap direct to ECU. Face-lift FK8 all the way from Kent in for a basic service, fitting of a new under engine pipe and remap to suit now on its way home. ๐ Car was previously mapped with a panel filter and 3/4 exhaust and with the new PRL intake, Forge IC and exhaust upgrade we were expecting to easily get into the 400s which we did. ๐ Cars mapped direct to ECU as had to do quite a lot of work to account for the improved airflow which was achieved pretty well. Next up we had Waheeds FK8 he's owned for 2 years now and was starting to get a bit bored with the performance. Booked in for fitting of a Forge intercooler then remapping we got @ktech_performance onto the fitting while I was mapping the other car. We had talked about mods and with some nice bits now fitted and remapping carried out its transformed the car and he's back in love with it. ๐๐๐ Making really strong power and clipping the MAF sensor max voltage trip with the stock map on and sending it into limp shows just how much air the Injen Evolution can pull. Remap and all setup for the mods its well into the 400 club now. Best intakes I've come across are the PRL HVI and Injen Evolution both very similar and for the cost compared to others available you can't go wrong. Absolutely mental busy at moment what with race season started and helping out a few local teams with diagnostics and testing so might be delayed getting back to people but bare with me and send a message or email and I'll respond as soon as I can. Remember phones don't work inside the unit and if im on the dyno I cant hear it anyway so always best to message or email. ๐ One of the many jobs last few days I can actually share due to NDAs with some teams is this lovely very clean FK2 that has been in the owners possession for all of an hour before it came in for diagnostics and a remap. Owner flew in and collected the car from the dealers brought it in and driving back now. Cars totally standard but on system check threw up a lot of system errors but they will all be related to having battery disconnected which ties up with what owner said about clocks being wrong. Base runs showed it making 305bhp as you would expect. Few updates later and we are running a very healthy 378bhp and totally transformed the drive making it pull smooth and hard all the way to the limiter. Nice FK8 all the way from Glasgow today for a custom remap direct to ECU. Struggled with this to make power as it seemed to be really holding back from about 5500rpm. Lot of head scratching as it had a good set of mods with a PRL intake and top pipe, PRL intercooler and pipes and an AWE exhaust so spent ages running through logs and making small changes to try and pick up the power then had a brainwave and removed my dyno lambda sensor test pipe from the centre tailpipe which coincidentally is only one of the 3 actually doing anything....... and surprise surprise picked up 20bhp straight away ๐๐ฏ๐ Had a look inside and looks like the rear silencer isn't particularly well made and the baffle tube has slipped and also a hole on the bottom in the middle plus where the join is where it splits to 3 pipes is 70mm OD which means it's probably only about 65mm tops ID inside where they are making claims of 3" all through. Also noticed it whistles at high revs which was pretty odd. Another top quality US product. ๐๐คญ๐ Honestly if your in the market for a good exhaust consider something like a UK made Cobra or Milltek or even an HKS with front pipe and you can't go wrong. Last job of the week and beer time now. ๐ป๐ FK8 in for map updates and to "detune" this time as the customer no longer has any fuel stations close that have good 99R fuel available so not wanting to take any chances I've backed it off a fair bit progressively from 5000rpm to keep it super super safe at higher rpms as he was getting worried with horror stories of poor supermarket fuels.
