I’ve been on a taco kick lately and another great place for tacos is @juanderful.tacos. If you haven’t heard of them by now, you must been living under a rock. They serve up some delicious tacos, burritos & quesadillas with tender, flavorful meat. They are served plain with either just meat or meat & cheese depending on what you order. But they have a toppings bar where you can add what you like. @juanderful.tacos offers 4 different types of meat but I tried the carne asada and chicken. What I really liked about the chicken is that it was tender and juicy, not dried out like a lot of chicken tacos can be. The carne asada was also cooked to perfection. It’s been a minute since I’ve had Mediterranean food and @zukispita did not disappoint. I tried a bunch of different meats, all of which were packed full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Omg! I can’t believe that I have never had chilaquiles before! Why didn’t anyone tell me that they were soooo good! I tried out @tacopapiaz and I am so glad that I did! I loved the chilaquiles, they were a bit spicy for me but nothing their delicious horchata couldn’t cure! The flavor was incredible. Have you been to @tacosdonhector yet? If not you’re missing out on an explosion of flavor! I tried the Taco Don Hector, Choritaco and the Patty Melt with carne asada & Pastor. Everything was so amazing. It was cooked perfectly and packed full of flavor. I loved the Chile Anaheim that was in all three items. It gave it a little bit of spice without it being overwhelming like some chilies. You literally cannot go wrong with anything you order and You definitely don’t want to sleep on the patty melt. Do you love Pudding? Then you need to check out @heypuddininc. I tried their S’mores pudding and it was delicious. The chocolate pudding had a rich decadent flavor without being overly sweet. The marshmallow on top and graham cracker on the bottom was a nice added touch to truly give you that S’mores feel and taste. I also got to try a sample of their Banana Pudding and it was definitely in the top 5 best banana puddings I’ve had. I LOVE banana pudding so that should tell you something. It was thick, creamy and didn’t have that artificial banana taste. Today is Hinamatsuri Day in Japan! Hinamatsuri also called Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day, is a religious holiday in Japan, celebrated on 3 March of each year. Platforms covered with a red carpet–material are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. During Hinamatsuri and the preceding days, girls hold parties with their friends. One of the typical foods at these parties is Hishi Mochi, which is pictured above! Hishi Mochi is typically formed from three layers of red (pink), white, and green mochi, from top to bottom.Depending on region, red may be substituted for yellow, or the sweet may have 5 or 7 layers instead. It is usually presented with hina dolls. @shakazgrindz was kind enough to share this delicious Hishi Mochi with me! I love me a good taco and the food from @la.klera was fantastic. I tried a variety of everything and a few of my favorites were the al pastor taco, carne asada fries, the big bear burrito and the Jalapeño bites. But you really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. I loved that the carne asada fries came with seasoned fries, I feel like that just elevated it to another level. I’m also not a fan of jalapeños so for the jalapeño bites to be one of my favorite things there says a lot. They were perfectly cooked and the chipotle sauce on top is the best. I could probably drown all my food in that sauce. When the munchies hit, then hitting up @mrmunchiesaz is a must! I tried the Cheese bomb and the Luchadog. Both were super delicious and hit the spot. The cornbread batter on the cheese bomb was so good, it was sweet and savory at the same time. Oh and the cheese pull on this baby is what made me originally want to try this! I also really enjoyed the Luchadog. It was a different spin on a typical corn dog. It comes with lime crema, guacamole, and cotija cheese. The best part was the hotdog. @someburros has opened a new location in Peoria! If you haven’t been to @someburros they have been serving up authentic Mexican food since 1986. One of my favorite dishes there is their popular Pollo Fundido. Marinated chicken breast wrapped in a flour tortilla then deep fried and topped with jalapeño cream cheese, grated cheddar and green onions. On this particular visit, I got a combo plate with a Shredded Beef taco, Cheese Enchilada and a Bean Tostada. The Taco was juicy and flavorful and the cheese enchilada had a delicious sauce. While there I also tried the Dessert Chimis and I highly recommend trying the chocolate ones. Sushi & Wings, Yum! Recently I checked out the sushi & wings from @sushino_mexicanroll and they were delicious. For a limited time you can get the Barbie Roll, which includes shrimp, crab, avocado and cream cheese. I also tried out the El Fresón roll which is similar to the Barbie roll but deep fried and topped with spicy crab, shrimp tempura, avocado and eel sauce. I love to check out coffee shops and recently I checked out @ziggis_coffee in Tempe. I love that they have a variety of different drinks including non coffee drinks. While there I tried out the S’mores Blender drink (Available for a limited time) and a Melon Berry Tide fresher with Lemonade. Both were delicious but my favorite was the S’more Blender.
