Every once in a while I go to the store with the goal of finding what I call a “weird wine”… something unusual, that I’ve never heard of, out of my norm, unique. Sometimes I’ll just buy a pretty label and not even look at the type of wine, just to try something different. This bottle was exactly what I was looking for when I went shopping: cool bottle, white, Italian, and unfamiliar. As it turns out, Gavi is Cortese de Gavi, which is grown in the Piedmont region of Italy, and is considered a rare grape, according to Wine Folly. I really enjoy this one, it has a great citrus nose and finish, with a bit of minerality in there, and no sweetness at all. It is crisp and a bit tart, and paired exceptionally well with tonight’s meal of chicken, zucchini, and couscous. This is what I love about wine… almost too many choices, so many varieties and styles and regions… it makes me want to learn more and more. Most of his passes are progressive and combines well with his teammates. He possesses good vision and excels in finals balls as well. Unai contributes fair amount in goals as well can see in his numbers. He’s not afraid to shoot from outside the box. And why is this? Because some people are so reactionary and unrealistic that they cannot think properly.
