The dishes were as delicious as I recalled from 8 plus years ago. Gino's Italian restaurant is a nice little quiet staple in Baton Rouge. With restaurants that come and go, Gino's remains constant. A non-pizza trip (except for the single slice) to @moondogpie in fruit cove. Everything was super fresh and delicious. The Stromboli was massive, as were the zucchini fries. Yes, those are zucchini fries. Those were some long zucchini. Anyways, I digress. The Stromboli was stuffed and extra hot because it comes with a warning that they take 20 minutes to bake! Soooo totally worth the wait. Speaking of worth the wait, when you go you must try their Chicago stuffed pizza. Since this wasn't a pizza trip (except for the single slice) we didn't get it but next time! This past week was the first step of the kids going back to school. We had to attend open house to meet the new teachers and bring supplies. So what's the best place to eat after this? Pizza? Finally had the chance to check out the new @parlordoughnutsfirstcoast in fruit cove. If you know me, you know I'm not a big fan of sweets, much less sweets for breakfast. I think I was just converted. These cronuts were amazing. It helps that I'm a sucker for a good croissant. The maple bacon was my favorite. Besides the cronuts, I had to get my savory and I got the sausage, egg and cheese unglazed doughnut sandwich and the breakfast tacos. The sandwich good but the tacos left a little to be desired. The chorizo taco was alright but the bacon taco was just that and not much else to it. Overall the experience was great and I honestly think my next trip will be just for the cronuts! 🤯 IKR?! Went to @nudoinjax the other night and I can't believe we haven't been more often. Everything was delicious and fresh! The wait staff was great and for came out promptly!
