Hello - this is Jo Mabbutt’s artist Instagram takeover in the lead up to our group exhibition ‘The Gilded City’ as part of @londoncraftweek The exhibition will be complemented by a series of workshops. Ann Bowen teaches techniques of abstract lettering and embossing with gilded enhancement, while Yuki Aruga offers an introduction to verre églomisé. Polly Bennett invites participants to produce their own natural pigments foraged from the shore of the Thames, before using them to create a medieval-style illumination, and Jo Mabbutt introduces the gilding of natural plant material.
