The seasons are changing, I’m beginning to feel everything slow down. The pressure is off, there seem to be less cars on the road, less gridlock, less stress in the air. Everybody is taking time to unwind and I’m loving it. My sessions have been full over the past few months of living families from far and wide. I may have been less active on socials, but behind the scenes there’s been a lot going on and I might be finding the time to share more. How wonderful is time and being able to slow down and soak it up!?!? There’s the age old saying that “they’re not little for long” and soaking up these moments with them in front of my lens is the best! Thankyou to the sweetest family for choosing me and to Ricky for booking this sweetest session as a birthday surprise for his wife Amie’s birthday. Photo shoots are really the gift that keeps on giving. For years on you can update prints, albums, framed prints. And your children and grandchildren can cherish these for generations to come. I’ve been reading about the power of imagery lately. Recent neuroscience has proved that when we savour the moments we are given. When we slow down and deeply take in what’s before us. When we pause and don’t rush through our moments - this very act of presence helps cement the memory into our brains. This is what I aim to do at all my sessions. I want them to be the complete opposite of a stressful afternoon trying to perfect poses and curate specific images. Rather I want my sessions to be an hour of time that you dive deep into connecting with your little ones. Laughing, playing games and letting things unfold naturally, however that looks! Trust me it looks so different for every family and that’s the beauty of a storytelling session. One day when you look back on your images in years to come I want you to remember the fun you had. I want you to feel the joy of the time you spent together loving on your littles and the beauty these memories hold for you. I’ve been capturing @whatdanuzaloves and her darling girl since she was a baby. These images are everything. So much joy, so much love. Theo’s first home two years ago, now with curious anticipation he waits for this little bub to arrive.
