I'm back. Yup I think it's time to get the ball on RKD Works rolling again. Just been sharing the small stuffs but after some hiatus of works, I think I can start or try to post as often as I can...heh... Anyhoo, not sure if anyone remembers about this Sword Calamity Gundam, but he was ready ages ago but the last detail (shoulder laser blades) were the last to be done. My good buddy @harunagr asked if I could figure out to change Artisan's original design with something less... overwhelming in size. Luckily I found an unused conversion kit for the sword Impulse Gundam backpack and had the right size n shape. Now why did it take too long to be done? I kept losing or misplacing those parts hahahaha...you see I always rearrange my studio to suit a specific project, hence why I prefer a more modular design in the studio. So in those times I tend to...well...misplace stuffs...😅 Anyhoo, finally found those parts and immediately got it done for my very...very patient friend of mine. I've been his go to gundam painter for years and he has always been generous to me...so I had to make sure this kit was finally done. Presenting: Artisan's Resin Conversion Kit Sword Calamity Gundam. Finished putting it all together now. Started on the decals. Only testing them out so just done three at the moment. Decals are a bit more fragile than I'm used to so I'll be taking my time on them. Took a little time on my vacation trip to build the Immortal Justice. It's just a HG kit, but gotta say the proportions and details are wonderful. Not sure when I can paint this guy, doing up the backlogged gunpla works. I'm a lot better than before. This vacation time was truly needed, after all the things my family and me faced from last year...it was good to get away. I can literally feel my back stronger, able to do more, lift more and best of all slowly cutting off my painkillers. Maybe I'll paint up this guy as soon as I get home, as a celebration to my coming back to RKD Works fully. Thank you all for the support and encouragement during my down n dark times. New video alert! Heres the gallery for the zaku head i picked up from @hwsystems its a beautifully crafted rendition of the zaku II with clear easy to assemble pieces, loads of fun surface detail, and a solid scale to paint at. The entire model was hand painted (even primer) using the @monument_hobbies pro acryl line and a couple of gw washes, decals are from @mechadecal by @childofmecha This was a blast to work on, its been quite some time since ive been excited to paint a gundam model, amd i figured this was a great opportunity to see if i coukd take everything ive learned painting miniatures and apply it to a large scale mech. Its not too often im pleased with where a project lands but this one is probably a top 5 for me. I really wamted to create contrast on so many fronts here. Between color, finish, texture, and anywhere else i could manage it.
