I don’t really wear dresses. I haven’t found one that works for me. I’ve been a skirts and shirts gal forever that I feel pretty alien in a dress dress, but oh how I love creating this art form. Each one really feels like an individual work of art for me. I guess that’s why I mostly avoid making repetitions (with the exception of the Glasshouse Dress) because with screen printing the whole point is repetition so being able to make one of a kind pieces that switch up all the time has kind of saved my soul and brain. And I love to see that other people can wear them out in the world. More one of a kind dresses coming soon. A little update: I had planned to be cranking this week and have another shop update next week with undies and dresses but I’ve come down with covirrrrrd… so everything will be on pause for a week I assume. I’ve got bleeding hearts and church windows undies coming as well as an updated version of an older design. I’ve got new scrunchies in the works, vines and barbed wire and thorns and more chains. I’ve got a tshirt design mostly done with a massive box of shirts and totes sitting in my studio and a huge handful of incredible dresses that I was excited to get stuck into. So expect all these exciting things to come towards the end of the month but until then I shall be horizontal in bed with a chronic headache. Fingers crossed I won’t be down for too long. ✸V E S S E L S ✸ . We’re going through a stage of experimenting with processes in bag making and styles which is why we’ve had a lot of “one-offs”. These ones were made awhile ago from upcycled canvas and hung around the studio until they called my attention today where I printed them individually followed by a session of heat curing. I wouldn’t call these seconds necessarily but more experiments from the early stages so we’ve put them in the shop now a bit cheap cheap. I thought it fitting to do some experimental printing of my own onto them too just to shake up the day. Hysteria, hysteria, hysteria. I’ve got some good old pre-made totes with a design that I’ll print in multiples in the works so keep an eye out for them soon.
