Two-hour delay! CMS schools will operate on a two-hour delayed schedule tomorrow, Jan. 19 due to freezing temperatures overnight and the potential for dangerous road conditions in some areas. Testing for high school students will begin after student arrival. Athletics and other extracurricular events will go on as scheduled. Before School Enrichment Programs (BSEP) will be on two-hour delay and After School Enrichment Programs (ASEP) will resume on a normal schedule. Hip hip horray for EOG prep through the arts! Mrs. Mull’s 4th grade class participated in an engaging mini-course designed by Mrs. Maurice (HVE Music Teacher) and Dr. Murray (UNCC Theater Education Professor) to teach test taking skills through theater games, music, and social emotional learning. These awesome HVE students had the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas via zoom with UNCC education students and their professor verbally, visually and through writing. Our HVE students learned techniques to relax and find their inner “superpower” to calmly access their academic knowledge and do their very best during testing. At HVE, we believe that special area classes not only let scholars explore something new, but also serve as meaningful connections to core academics! Update! Meal bundle bus stop delivery will end on Friday, October 23. Pick-up will replace deliveries as we transition students to in-person learning. Beginning October 28, meal bundle pick-up will be weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at select distribution locations across the district.
