Having a discussion the other day with my youngest daughter. Driving past the empty sizzler and they were absolutely destroyed during COVI* She commented and said how sad it was so many businesses small and big were destroyed during COVI times. I remember seeing a lady in Melbourne crying online about her small business and another lock down. My heart broke for her :( We had it a bit easier up here in Qld. We didn't go through all those lockdowns. It did end up affecting us a bit more when they then said we can't go to cafes zoos ECT unless your vac. I had just got a zoo pass too for my family. But they were good and let us put it on hold. Nathan kept his job, many others didn't. Of course my business took the hit too and it was just starting to go well after many years of trying to here. We had it good! Compared to others though. To see even now so many businesses are closing. After trying so hard. A little background 😁 Running my own business has had its highs and lows and helped with extra income. We started out with not much. We did start with nothing handed to us by anyone. Which I appreciate! Nathan saved up while living at home with his mum a deposit for our first home. (Which that helped save money, living with his mum) We agreed that I would buy all the furniture ECT for the house and he was saving for the deposit. It took him 4 years. I was living at home too and was cleaning and doing petcare. I would pay board to my mum with cleaning the house ECT :) We bought a townhouse that his good friend's work mate was selling at the time. Privately. I didn't even see the house 🤣 until he got it. It had major stain issues, (I thought I could just clean away), but nope) if you ask our good friends tilers they can account for this too 🤣 the new grout twice turned yellow. Nathan also said if I wanted to renovate anything I need to come up with that extra money. I took that on 😂 I saved up money for the renovations. Which included a sky light, tiles, carpet, bathroom, laundry toilet tiles ECT, paint, new windows near the front door, mirror sliding doors. Outdoor area. Dad got a bonus and he wanted to give each one of us kids some money. I used the money my dad gave us to renovate my kitchen :) Which I'm totally grateful for 🤍 My businesses also helped with each holiday to sunny coast(to visit family I used to go often with the kids and I by myself :), Hamilton island daydream island. I am super grateful to my little business for helping with these things and now. 🤍 I would put the holidays on my credit card and pay it off each year after my busy petcare holiday time. With both times of hard When COV*d struck and when he had to move to the sunny coast. I sadly had no income both those times. I gave my business to my friends in Canberra. I restarted the business on the coast. That took time.. It was super hard running a small business but it was made easier not being the main bread winner at those times. I am so passionate about small businesses and know how hard it can be and especially like small business owners too, that are that bread winn

I love our cubby house we bought many years ago. It's been repainted a few times 😅 I couldn't decided which colour I wanted 😂 (also flooded once too 🙈 in our other house, the backyard always flooded a bit) My Dad always promised us a Cubby house growing up. He never got around to it and used to make jokes about it 😂 but he did get us a swimming pool and we were very excited for that! I think I was 8 when it was done. I used to love doing oil painting 🎨 (still do hehe it just takes hours to do and I don't have the room as they take some time to dry/set or time these days :) and this one was part of a art course I did many years ago 🤣 my first try at Oil painting.. I loved doing it, but when it reached real life drawings portraits on people. I struggled... 🙈 My youngest daughter has That gift, she can draw amazing people portraits. She can also do animals in such great detail and animation characters. Monday 🤍 . . Mondays here for me is cleaning the entire house 🙃 . In one of my past jobs I used to be a cleaner for a few different places. One job I would have 8 houses to clean a week (usually two houses a day) and then I would clean my mum's for board. So 9 then after that 😁 Not sure how I did it! It's a hard job. Hey everyone 🤗 I thought I would introduce myself on here 😆 . . I started taking pictures for small businesses I think 🤔 back in 2014 when I took over my brother in-laws business. I have always wanted to support small businesses. From the start watching our Dad start his multi million dollar business from the ground up! He truly inspired me! To start my own business (that I run on the other page 🙃 ) and to support small! That's super important! I really saw the need also when I took over the other business I run now. I bought all the kids decor from small businesses and started a page solely to share the great finds and amazing products small businesses have to offer!
