In this photograph from the 1960s, German-American painter Ingeborg ten Haeff stands in front of one of her paintings clad in her large, magnificent I brooch. Calder was close friends with the Catalan architect Josep Lluís Sert, who set up the firm Town Planning Associates in New York with Paul Lester Wiener and Paul Schulz when he was exiled to the United States in 1941. Ingeborg tried to learn about Brazilian culture, especially the arts. . In 1944 Luther asks for a divorce. Ingeborg moves to New York. . Ingeborg Ten Haeff is an artist with an informal abstract style. The work in the photo was been given to the widow of Casa Roberto Marinho by the second husband of the artist John Githens. . The asymmetrical space and tension between the abstract and the figure are at the center of Ingeborg's work.
