⏱ 24 July 2022, Crete 🇬🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One week ago I turned 30 🙀 Anyone who knows me personally knows how terrified I was about reaching that age. Because in many ways, I don’t fit society’s expectations of a woman in her thirties, nor do I desire that life. So what did I do in my late twenties? Work really hard to create a life that fits my OWN expectations. And that’s what I celebrated on my birthday instead. I celebrated quitting a job that gave me security but sucked the life out of me, to become a full time student again. I celebrated graduating with my master’s degree just a few days shy of my 29th birthday last year. I celebrated that I had the balls to start my own business right after graduation. I celebrated my newfound dedication to the gym, and physically looking and feeling better now at 30 than I did during most of my twenties. And I celebrated all that at a beach with turquoise waters, exactly how I visualized my 30th birthday to be. My dream life has just begun, and in my thirties I will reap the benefits of all the actions that I took during the final years of my twenties. Some of our moments in Panama 💕 Charlie and I loved our time in Panama City! We partied, ate the local cuisine, toured around the city and made some new friends. My hat goes to @mademz31 for being the most amazing host. She took us under her wing and introduced us to her friends, and it was a blast. We met last year in Tampa and immediately became friends. I told her back in January that I would go visit her in Panama, and boom, we made it happen. We can’t wait for our upcoming trip to tour other parts of the country and to eat more hojaldras and concolón 🥰

Forever in love with Madrid’s rooftop views. I knew I was going to love Spain before visiting, but I didn’t quite grasp how much. Let’s just say, I’ll take any opportunity to go back 😅🙈💕. This rooftop bar had really cool vibes! I recommend you save it for your visit. P.S. Finally going through my camera roll and posting more of my recent 4-month travel experience 🙈. I definitely needed my time to decompress after moving back + finding a new place to live + decorating it + catching up with family/friends + three weddings + starting a new job + the holidays😅. Here you’ll find lots of Roman ruins and monuments, such as an amphitheater, a gate and some thermal baths. But my favorite sight was this one, the Kurfürstliches Palais (Electoral Palace). This beautiful building has a mix of three architectural styles: Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo. I went there last week to visit my family, and I experienced it all: from sunny, almost summerlike days, to rainy sweater weather, and vibrant fall colors. Overall, the temperatures were very pleasant, from 17 to 21 degrees Celsius (that’s in the 60ies for my Fahrenheit people). And this was in the north, the coldest region of the country. My first visit happened in 2007 during a road trip with my parents. It was a very quick stop; we only saw the casino, snapped a few pics and left again. But one year later, our good ol’ desktop computer crashed, and we lost all the pictures from that trip! During all these years, Monaco was the only country that I had no photographic memory of. And just like that, our time in Greece came to an end. We feel so blessed to have such a welcoming community there that took us in and made it feel like home. And so appreciative of the multiple home-cooked meals we had (most not photographed). Those were our first home-cooked meals since we left Tampa in July! How crazy. We very much needed that 😅. That really resonated with me. Why wait until the weekend or your next trip to enjoy life? So, ever since I came back from Turkey, I made it a habit to go outside every day for a bit. Even if it’s just to the park around the corner. I sit down, feel the wind and sunshine on my face, admire the flowers and the butterflies around them. ⏱ 12 August 2021, Seydikemer 🇹🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Didn’t listen to TLC and I chased the waterfall💧Literally. The only way to get to Gizlikent is by walking twenty minutes through a murky stream of water, covered in rocks on the bottom. I even slipped and hurt my knee on the way back. But it was worth it. The water is so refreshing, and I had the best time running around and through the waterfall. ⏱ 12 August 2021, Seydikemer 🇹🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you ever seen a canyon? And if so, where did you see it? Saklikent gorge is the first canyon that I ever saw. It is the largest canyon of Turkey and it’s located inside a national park with the same name 🏞 I joined a jeep safari to get there, and it was my favorite excursion of this trip! Not only did we visit Saklikent, the jeeps also stopped at a place named YakaPark, some mud baths, and the waterfall of Gizlikent. Great food (lots of vegetarian options too!), great cocktails and killer sunset views. But what makes them stand out the most is the service. ⏱ 16 August 2021, Fethiye 🇹🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you enjoy historic sights and love panoramic views, then the Ancient Rock Tombs of Fethiye should be on your list! The largest one is the tomb of Amyntas, who was a Greek, and his tomb was built in 350 BC 🏛 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❣️ Tips to visit the Ancient Rock Tombs: 1️⃣ Wear comfortable shoes! First you walk 200 stairs up, and then you have to climb over actual rocks to make it to the tombs. 2️⃣ There’s a fee of 12,50 TL to enter the site, which is about €1,25. 3️⃣ The site closes shortly after 7 PM (in August), so I would say that 6 PM is the best time to visit. ⏱ 15 August 2021, Ölüdeniz 🇹🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After skydiving almost a year ago, I ticked off another bucket list item in Turkey: paragliding 🪂 I was expecting a similar rush, but I found paragliding to be very laidback. Instead of plummeting out of the sky, you’re calmly pushed off a mountain and just float in the air for about 30 minutes. It’s like enjoying the views from an airplane, except you are the airplane. With a bit of turbulence when the instructor starts doing tricks 😂 Would I recommend paragliding? Definitely! As much as I love sightseeing and ‘ticking off’ places, what I like about traveling with friends is that the focus is more on making new memories and just having a good time together! My trip to Turkey with @sandrinhamonteiro and @rozildavarela was a perfect mix of both. We joined some tours and activities, hanged out by the pool or beach, went shopping and indulged in all the yummy Turkish food. And we even burned those calories at the local gym 🤪💪 But most importantly: we laughed so much, to the point that our stomachs hurt. ⏱ 26 June 2019, Hvar 🇭🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was after a beach day in Croatia in 2019 that I received the news that I was selected as a premaster student at VU Amsterdam. Today, I am happy to announce that I passed my Master’s thesis, which also means that I am graduating this summer 🥳 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It wasn’t an easy path. I followed my premaster at age 27 and my masters at 28, after working at an office job for three years. At the age that most people start to excel in their careers, I was going back to uni to start a complete new one. But it was soo worth it. With this degree, I will be able to work as a translator, which is a job that I am not only skilled at, but also fits into my lifestyle. So to anyone who wants to go back to university: just go for it! You’re never too old to learn or to start over 🙏❤️ . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And now it’s time to celebrate in the way that I love and miss the most: with a trip to the beach 🤩 #travelfavorita #casaboritacroatia

For me, it’s because I was inspired by all the beautiful photos that I saw here on IG. Another reason to visit is because of Game Of Thrones, and let me tell you something: I never watched one single episode of that show. Many people like to travel to places after seeing them in a show or movie, but I’m the opposite actually. ⏱ 26 & 27 June 2019, Hvar 🇭🇷 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you know that Hvar is the island of lavender? The lavender blooms in early summer, right around the time that I traveled through Croatia. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the lavender fields as my travel schedule only allowed for one night in Hvar. But it did turn out to be my favorite place of that trip, so I really regret not seeing more of it! I stayed in the main town of Hvar and also went to Dubovica beach, but I would love to go back one day and drive around the island to see the lavender fields, go up to the castle and do an excursion to other bounty islands 💜 . ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Which place do you regret not staying longer? #travelfavorita #casaboritacroatia

Take me back to exploring the beautiful caves on Port Willunga beach! 🌞 I’ve read that these stunning carved caves were once used to store fishermen’s boats and fishing rods. But now it’s a pretty popular spot for people to hide from the sun or have a picnic whilst enjoying a day at the beach. 🏖❤️ I’d definitely recommend adding this spot on your Fleurieu Peninsula/Adelaide bucketlist.

What type of photos do you like the most: super popular spots or hidden gems? 📸 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I prefer the latter, but hey, there is a reason why those spots are popular in the first place. So when I do take a photo of a popular spot, I always try to capture it from a different angle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, La Maison Rose is one of those places. It is probably the most photographed spot in Montmartre after the Sacré-Cœur, and I just couldn’t resist to snap a photo with its pink facade.
