This project was commissioned by Aperture, who published the book and circulated a traveling exhibition of these works throughout the world. This print is being featured in a group exhibition opening April 12 at HaOman 26 gallery at Cube Artists’ Studios, 26 HaOman St, Talpiot, Jerusalem. Neil was among the founding artists of the Jerusalem Artists’ Studios when it was established in 1982. This project was completed while Neil was resident at the artists’ studios in Jerusalem. The dragon is the symbol of Ljubljana and has pride of place on the city coat of arms and on the Dragon Bridge. Legend has it that Ljubljana was founded by Jason, who stole the golden fleece and then fled aboard the Argo with the Argonauts, across the Black Sea and up the Danube and the Sava until they reached the Ljubljanica. On their way to the coast, they stopped at a large lake in the marshes near the source of the Ljubljanica, where a dragon was said to dwell, whereupon Jason fought, defeated and killed the monster. The dragon was originally present on the medieval coat of arms as a decoration, but later assumed a more central position. О, боже, видела, какой закат красивый? Мне нужно будет написать тебе план и выбрать дату. Нифига себе! Голубь! Какой маленький! Течёт ручей, бежит ручей, и я ничья, и ты ничей! Вот бы сейчас булочку с ежевикой! Надо открыть кафе с ежевичными булочками! Блин, а слово ежевика - это реально существующее слово или я только что его придумала? О чём мы только что говорили?» ✨Могут делать пять дел одновременно, но не могут нормально сосредоточиться на одном-единственном, по которому дедлайн сегодня. Наверное, взросление - это когда ты учишься любить и понимать себя со всеми своими особенностями и странностями. И перестаёшь пытаться перестроить себя под удобный одобряемый шаблон, а учишься жить искать пути, подходящие именно тебе. Я сейчас учусь строить планы так, чтобы у меня получалось выполнять их, несмотря на то, что меня отвлекают голуби, мысли о булочках и 50 новых идей, которые каждый день появляются в моём блокноте. Иногда я не знаю, о чём писать. Мне кажется, что мои внутренние осознания и перемены никому не интересны. А иногда кажется, что я непременно должна делиться ими с миром, и будь, что будет. Из Вены мы на ночном автобусе двинули в Словению. До Любляны, а там на электричке к Ущелью Винтгар. Очень красиво и очень холодно. Заповедник открывается в 9 утра и ни минутой раньше. Так нам сказали и даже отказались продать кофе. Так что мы полтора часа мёрзли на лавочке и смотрели, как работники кофе пьют.
