Working on thicker bezel walls for rings that will have prongs to hold the stone and add a fun detail. They will look similar to the orange stone in the pendant in the second picture. Because these bezels are sterling and work harden quickly, they've gone off to be annealed before I fit them and solder them closed. My experiments with using curved folds in my jewelry continue. Here are two pieces I've finished. 1) The copper piece features an accent of handwoven wire that curves around to become the bail. It's a dramatic piece at almost 3 inches long with a 24 inch chain. Available $125 2) The silver pendant started as a flat circle that was folded to create this unique shape. It features an amazonite stone and measures 1 1/2 inches long, on an 18 inch silver chain. I always love when a package arrives from @rollingmillresources ! Gwen has the best patterns for jewelry, plus she will custom cut designs. These patterns are destined for a date with some silver in my rolling mill very soon! Last year, I was struggling. I spent December dealing with moving my mom to memory care, January with covid and pneumonia, then my father almost dying and his slow recovery in February and March. I packed up my studio and moved in with my father as his caregiver in April. All while trying to get back to my full-time job. I didn't create a single piece of jewelry for over 4 months. This year is different. I feel invigorated creatively and ready to make some exciting new pieces. I'm planning to take some great classes and preparing to teach, as well.
