Writing. One of the projects providing some inspiration #Starlings We had a happy time making that gorgeous show by @mattkingactor @steeyivejj and missing this lovely lot today. Season One opened with me pretending to be pregnant as Bell. Season two ended with me, secretly, pregnant with our eldest (& turns out, I did fancy that Water Birth, after all.) Right after, @romacinemafest still hadn’t told anyone about our baby & had to squeeze in to @dolcegabbana - there was a little time between the fabulous fitting and the festival - only just got the zip up. Our flight was late so we got ready super quick - I forgot to do up the sash on my dress & @sebastiankochofficial asked me, as we left the photo call, why I had reins. The red carpet was soaking, too, so the beautiful dress was hard to walk in. Loved it, anyway. Séance 28 : Judy. Derrière la légende de strass et de paillettes, la bien triste histoire d'une femme qui veut être aimée de nouveau. Les scénaristes ont choisi de se concentrer sur la dernière année de la vie de la célèbre chanteuse et comédienne. Le film est parsemé cependant de retours en arrière qui nous montrent la jeune vedette, au moment où, encore adolescente, elle vient pratiquement d’être achetée par Louis B. Mayer, le grand patron de la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Au lieu de mettre au centre du récit cette tournée anglaise sans grand relief, il aurait mieux valu se focaliser davantage sur la jeunesse de Garland, dont l'image a été façonnée et contrôlée par les majors d'Hollywood, jusqu'à la rendre toxicomane. Le réalisateur ne réussit pas à creuser son personnage éponyme, l’enferme dans une série de grimaces qu’affichent le visage déformé de Renée Zellweger. L’actrice exagère à outrance les émotions que la mise en scène martèle au burin. Son visage transformé par la chirurgie esthétique ne lui permet pas d’être convaincante dans le rôle d’une femme de près de 50 ans marquée par la vie. Un biopic musical très académique et très artificiel, n'évitant aucun poncif propre au genre et s'appuyant beaucoup trop sur l'aspect misérabiliste de Garland. Un récit qui aurait gagner à afficher plus de finesse. Somewhere over the rainbow... C'est sur cette chanson inoubliable qui nous prend au cœur et aux tripes que se conclut logiquement ce film.
