If a car bears the founder’s name, it had better be good. [Ferrari Enzo] There’s no doubt that the Enzo looks very different from any other Ferrari of the era, or indeed every other Ferrari before it. The design team behind it was led by Ken Okuyama, a Japanese designer working for Pininfarina. Can’t just be me thinking the design was at least partly inspired by Gundam. It wasn’t just the design that had undergone a clean sheet transformation however, the Enzo represented a radical change for Ferrari as a whole. It was with the Enzo that Ferrari started to get serious about their road cars. Take the aerodynamics for example: the Enzo features two underbody flaps hidden under the front and one under the rear, as well as an active rear wing. With the F40 and F50, massive wings were needed to tame the air, but the Enzo managed to generate more than 300kg of downforce at 200km/h. And this was in 2002! With 650hp on tap, it blew away all competition including the haloed Carrera GT, Mercedes-McLaren SLR, and even the Zonda S. The Enzo represents the peak of a high point in automotive history, and will go down as one of the most legendary Ferraris to touch asphalt. Okuyama’s design transcended the adage of a Formula One car for the road edict. Nose to tail, the Enzo is pure style and function encapsulated into a breakthrough design which could never be duplicated. To this day, the Enzo is still held as the virtual gold standard in modern supercar design More closely resembling a full bodied prototype, the Enzo’s styling starts at the nose with drop down wings jutting down from the nose a-la the Formula One car with air inlets opening to the radiators which sit either side which forms the basis for the slant-nose front boot. The front and side intakes keep air flowing to the massive engine in the rear, while wind-tunnel-tested ground effects do the work of keeping the car glued to the pavement at speed.

kode 57, the unicorn from japan🇯🇵 the kode 57 is based on the ferrari 599 and styled as a tribute to the original 1957 testa rossa. it was commissioned by a client who wanted a modern ferrari 599. this car and his brother, the kode 0, were designed by ken okuyama who was involved in the ferrari enzo design. the 1 of 5 supercar sports a carbon fiber body with sharp curving lines, wind deflector, new wheels and sidepipes, all while delivering 600 novitec-tuned horsepower from an exposed v12. at 3400 lbs, the speedster is also lighter than a 599, further enhanced by a custom suspension and improved cooling. in 2018, the asking price for the kode 57 was 200 million yen ($1.79 million usd) and 150 million yen ($1.34 million usd) for the kode 0. ✍️ @carsconfidential

This led me to become interested in the field of agriculture once again.
