I don’t know where to start . I landed on dushi Curaçao almost 2 months ago and in my path I’ve meet so many wonderful people any word I’m writing to thanks everyone is not close enough to what all of them deserve! . @dive_bus_curacao has been absolutely the best choice I could have ever made to make my dream come true and become a @paditv scuba instructor; since the very beginning they welcomed me and supported me throughout all the work experience made before official IDC started. And after many hors spent through online video lessons my CD @leosaldunbidescd @leo.saldunbides finally arrived and the IDC has started.. couldn’t ask for a better mentor then him!! Hey guys, apologies for the lack of content yesterday. With a record breaking 15,000 of you joining us for Round 1 at @japfestmondellopark, the internet decided to take a Sunday off! For many dive professionals, transitioning from Divemaster to Instructor is a common career path. But the truth is that they're two very different roles, and teaching isn't necessarily for everyone. Let's have a look at the key differences between being a Divemaster and an Instructor. Responsibility A significant difference lies in the level of responsibility for others' safety. Instructors often teach novice divers, bearing full responsibility for their safety underwater. Divemasters, however, lead certified divers who are expected to have a certain level of independence. Time in the water Depending on where you are in the world, Divemasters spend most of their time guiding certified divers, while Instructors also spend considerable time in the swimming pool and classroom. As a Divemaster you'll also be expected to have extensive knowledge of marine creatures and how to spot them. Income Generally speaking, commissions on teaching courses are higher than commissions on guiding dives. This varies by location and dive center, but typically, Instructors tend to have higher daily earnings. Social skills Both roles require excellent social skills, leadership, and the ability to make people feel comfortable. However, Instructors often spend more time with students, which requires strong engagement, especially when facing challenges during the course. In the end, deciding whether to pursue a career as a Divemaster or an Instructor is a personal choice.
