We’ve debated for a while whether to simply record them from home or to book small studios. Who are „Kollektiv Hinterzimmer“❓- 4/4 Meet @habibi_rob_ “As a teenager, I was hooked on American gangsta rap and only occasionally had contact with electronic music through my raver friends at the time, but I was already fascinated by the impact that techno and minimal artists like Sven Väth and Monika Kruse had on me. But it wasn’t until over a decade later, with the move to Berlin in 2020 and my first real encounters with techno clubs after Covid, that I gained access to the scene. Mirass (thanks, Habibi) taught me the first steps on the decks in 2023. Two weeks later, I owned a DDJ-SB controller, and eight weeks later, I was playing Techno/Tech House tunes on CDJs in rooftop and beach bars in Morocco. Little fun fact: I am both the oldest and the youngest in the Hinterzimmer collective. I’m the oldest member of the crew, yet the ‘newbie’ when it comes to DJing. But don’t get me wrong, I quickly matured at the decks. During my time at university, I DJed at parties and broadened my horizons in various bars and small clubs, always looking for the perfect beat to move people. I made my Berlin debut at my own raves and small events such as the former Farbfernseher. After a long break, I have now returned to my love - DJing. My sound is a fusion of organic, driving and melodic techno and house tunes. Occasionally I also mix in tech house elements to take the audience on a journey.
