The final stop of our “Euro Road Trip” was Amsterdam! This was my fourth time in Amsterdam but my first time being there during the spring tulip season. 🌷 Taking a helicopter ride over the tulip farms in Lisse was one of my favorite parts of the trip. 🚁 We also visited the famed Keukenhof Garden, one of the largest flower gardens in the world with over seven million bulbs planted annually. The garden is only open to the public for eight weeks a year and we planned this entire trip around being there to finally check it off our travel bucket list. 🌸 #livelikerachel
Stop 8️⃣ of our Europe Road Trip: Luxembourg City. The entire country is around the size of Rhode Island and ranks as one of the richest countries in the world. We spent the day exploring the capital, Luxembourg City, whose Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site! #livelikerachel 🧡

May 19 is a day that I always just try to “get through” without too much damage. There’s something about 5 years… half a decade… that feels very overwhelming this year. At some point in my life (God willing) I will have lived more years without you than I did with you. And that’s something I can’t let myself think about for too long. Grief is a lonely place to be. No one but you knows just how deeply your life has changed. Even joyful moments that are cause for celebration are tinged with bittersweetness, because I wish for nothing more than to be able to share the happy moments with you. I think about you every day, and a little more on days like this. #livelikerachel forever and ever. 🌻

A few months ago I took a jog in #Chicago shortly before our daughter was born. I came upon this beautiful hand painted rock celebrating the life of Rachel Scott, an adventurous spirit whose life was cut short. Instructions on the rock asked me to pick it up and take it on an adventure. Since then, our own spirited daughter was born and the rock has traveled with us to NY, NC, and now back home to DC. Today @meerkat512 placed the rock along a beautiful trail in DC for the next adventurous spirit to find. #livelikerachel

Finally, we took ourselves on an adventure again. Like much else, the pandemic has stopped many plans this year. As a grand finale to our #everesting2020 (8848 altitude metres in 2020), we had a great weekend at @isabergstoppen. Our plan was to pass on our gifted #livelikerachel stone (found by family in southern Europe) on the top of the hill. However, the giant Christmas tree in the restaurant has a gift basket for all children. What better place to find the next adventurous soul than there?! We hope the stone will lead whoever finds it on an equally great adventure. As for us? Less than 600 metres to the top of Everest. Maybe we will make it by Christmas! www.livelikerachel.com
