Iidesjärvellä on jo muutaman vuoden ajan ollut kelluvia pesälauttoja, joilla naurulokit ovat voineet pesiä pienpedoilta ja muulta häirinnältä suojassa. Tänä keväänä lokkien pesintää on mahdollista seurata riistakameran välityksellä, jonka kuva päivittyy noin puolen tunnin välein. Tarjolla on siis slow-tv:tä parhaimmillaan! Voit seurata lokkien touhuja sivulla: ekokumppanit.fi/lintulauttakamera (Linkin löydät myös biostamme) 📹👀 Miksi lokkien pesintää seurataan? Naurulokki on luokiteltu Suomessa vaarantuneeksi lajiksi vähenemisensä vuoksi. Kameraseurannan avulla voidaan tarkkailla pesintälauttojen toimivuutta sekä tunnistaa miten lauttojen rakennetta voidaan kehittää pesintään vielä sopivammaksi. Tampereen kaupunki on saanut kameraseurannalle Varsinais-Suomen ELY-keskukselta luvan tutkimus- ja opetustarkoitukseen. Kameraseurannan toteuttaa Ekokumppanit Oy. Seuranta on toteutettu siten, ettei se häiritse lokkien elämää. Laitteisto on täysin äänetön, ja pimeällä hyödynnetään inframustasalamaa, jota linnut eivät näe. Iidesjärvellä ja Härmälän Vähäjärvellä on ollut lintujen pesintälauttoja vuodesta 2020. Lauttoihin on saatu ympäristöministeriön Kunta-Helmi-hankkeen tukea. Tervetuloa Luonnontieteellisen museon taianomaiseen Juhlat metsässä -näyttelyyn! Päätös juhlanäyttelyn rakentamisesta tehtiin keväällä 2022 ja sen teemaksi valikoitui pian juhlat metsässä. Todellinen suunnittelutyö käynnistyi syksyllä 2022 tutkijoiden työpajoilla, näyttelyn tekstirungon kokoamisella ja hahmottelemalla näyttelyä pienoismallin avulla. Luomuksen amanuenssi Salla Mehtälän työparina ja näyttelyn toisena suunnittelijana toimi Luomukselle pitkään näyttelyitä tehnyt biologi-kuvanveistäjä Ville Heimala. 🌲 Näyttelyt valmistuvat aina kuitenkin useiden eri ammattilaisten yhteistyöllä. Juhlanäyttelyn suunnittelussa ovat Luomuksen näyttelytiimin ja konservaattorien lisäksi olleet mukana Luonnontieteellisen keskusmuseon asiantuntijat eläinkunta-, seuranta- ja hyönteistiimeistä. Museon puuseppä Kimmo Fröberg ja konservaattori Roni Andersson ovat olleet päävastuussa näyttelyn fyysisten puitteiden suunnittelusta ja rakentamisesta. Heidän osaamisensa ja kädentaitonsa avulla suunnittelijoiden visiot ovat siirtyneet paperilta todellisuuteen. 🌟 Näyttelysali on muutettu vanhaksi metsäksi juhlatelttoineen, joissa kaikissa avautuu erilainen maailma. Näyttely liittyy Aleksi Lehikoisen loppuvuodesta 2022 julkaisemaan lastenkirjaan “Lumiukko Nuoska ja puiden tarina”, joka käsittelee myös ympäristönmuutoksia lumiukkojen ja -eläinten maailmassa. Näyttelyn lumiveistokset ovat Aleksi Lehikoisen toteuttamia ja valokuvaamia. Lehikoinen toimii yli-intendenttinä Helsingin yliopiston Luonnontieteellisessä keskusmuseossa, jossa hän tutkii mm. ilmastonmuutoksen vaikutuksia luontoon, etenkin linnuilla.
