The federal government has reduced the petrol price in Pakistan by Rs5.45 per litre for the next fortnight, according to a statement issued by the Finance Division Tuesday night. In a notification, the Finance Division said the new prices of petroleum products for the fortnight — starting from May 1, 2024,till May 15, 2024 — have been worked out by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). The Institute of Space Technology on Tuesday said Pakistan’s “historic” lunar mission iCube-Q will be launched on May 3 at 12:50pm on board China’s Chang’e 6 lunar probe from Hainan, China. According to the Institute of Space Technology (IST), the satellite ICUBE-Q has been designed and developed by IST in collaboration with China’s Shanghai University SJTU and Pakistan’s national space agency Suparco. Chang’e 6 is the sixth in a series of China’s lunar exploration missions. The launch activity will be telecast live on the IST website and IST social media platforms. China’s lunar mission will touch down on the moon’s far side to collect samples from the surface and return to Earth for research. A premature Palestinian baby, who was saved from her mother’s womb after she was killed in an Israeli attack in the Gaza Strip, has died after days in an incubator. Sabreen al-Rouh Jouda died in a Gaza hospital on Thursday after her health deteriorated and medical teams were unable to save her, said her uncle, Rami al-Sheikh Jouda. Dr Mohammad Salama, head of the emergency neonatal unit at Emirati Hospital in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, who was caring for the baby girl, also confirmed her death on Friday. Weighing just 1.4kg (3.1 pounds), the baby was in severe respiratory distress because she was born prematurely. She was being cared for in an incubator in a neonatal intensive care unit. A 10-year-old maid was fatally burnt under mysterious circumstances in the Millat Park area here on Saturday. Police said Zainab, who belonged to Pattoki and worked at the house of Suleman, was burnt but had been not shifted to hospital for nine hours. Police have arrested the house owner who claimed that the girl had died after suffering burns in a cylinder explosion.
