@mooncat Maelstrom - 2 coats + glossy top coat. Happy Friday everyone! I have been wearing lots of springy, pastel/light colors which are my jam and I think more suited to my tiny nail beds 😩 - thought I’d switch it up though (will probably go back to my comfort zone after this haha). This is such a mesmerizing color/finish. The flakies look like emeralds to me and it leans more green than I thought, but absolutely beautiful and anything but subtle. Definitely a statement polish! My camera doesn't pick up all the strong green shift of the flakies - they legit glow in low and bright light. Truly mermaid nails! Thoughts on #mooncatmaelstrom : - surprisingly wonderful formula. I expected a typical thick viscous flakie bomb but this is so nice and smooth and pretty thin. Really easy to apply and hardly needed any cleanup - it looks nice even with just 1 coat. I wanted to show “the sea between us” and “maelstrom” from @mooncat next to each other since they were the most similar of the new release (imo) and I really wanted to show their similarities and differences. I love both they are absolutely beautiful in their unique ways! Slides 1-3 are half of each nail painted one color with a line and arrow separating them (2coats)- they are a bit similar here with slight differences Slides 4-7 are squares at 3 coats - which really shows the differences in colors. Ok, so I reallyyy wanted to hop on @colourftw’s #mooncatmonday trend & I also reallyyy wanted to use maelstrom for the first time, SO I am loosely interpreting ‘polish you don’t normally wear’ as TYPE of polish you don’t normally wear! So let’s talk FLAKIES.
