I chased these models down and painted them super quick. @box2tabletop had some wicked green transparent resin variants that I am now obsessed with finding (if you got a lead, slide into my DMs 😆). I also really wanted to paint some of the ghouls, so I ordered a pack, and they showed up yesterday afternoon. I already had these glowing ones about 90% painted in my head, already, so once I got the models, they were quick work. I posted a wip to my stories last night, and from there, I just worked on brightening up the glow and finishing the bases. @ladygravenly and I worked on the feral ghouls last night and got them looking pretty good. We will be working on highlighting their clothes next. Aside from that, I've been chipping away at my Dark Apostle for my 40k Combat Patrol/1000k lists. I finished the skin today (both the cloak and the cape 😆) as well as the scrolls. Fallout: Wasteland Warfare! We had an awesome time battling it out in the wastelands yesterday. The Raiders were a little too blood thirsty in their first match and spent too much time focusing on trying to kill the super mutants - they forgot to grab objectives! Braeden's super mutants took the win in a skirmish that was in the air to the very last activation. The second bout, they got their act together and focused on taking and holding objectives. The tough robot team piloted by Avery managed to decimate a corner of the board with a self-destructing protectron to secure an objective for a round, but we're no match for the quick and nimble raiders that we're able to scoop up most of the secondary objectives. Big thanks to Ken for making the 2-hour trek up to our corner of Wisconsin, with all his beautiful Fallout terrain, to walk us through some wasteland skirmish (its some work!) Avery is fired up to be able to engage with her favorite IP this way! Ken has a painting stream on Twitch, Wednesday nights, starting at 7pm central. He will also be at TMX in June, demonstrating some more Fallout action. The big chungus leader of my raider crew for Fallout Wasteland Warfare is ready to crack some skulls: The Overlord! I really love this sculpt! Normally, I avoid raider power armor in Fallout 76 because it's so janky looking. I like my power armor to be solid and menacing looking. This suit is exactly that! Much like the protections, it was just a joy to paint. @modiphius really nailed it with their resin minis. I painted him in the scheme of my Disciples raiders and played with a little OSL behind the armor. Can't really tell in these pics, but his lenses and flashlight are flourescent red. I carried the glow to the back of the faceplate and through its visor. I experimented some more with adding light through texture to give the armor that raider wear and tear. It looked really good, so I didn't want to weather it down with rust or overt chipping. I gave the base a lot of love, and I'm really happy with how the tiles came out. After varnishing, everything got a layer of dust, which obscured a lot of that work 😆 Overall I really like how this model came out. Another date night paint project is complete! Another step into the tactile wasteland taken. Avery and I really fell in love with the objective markers sets from @modiphius for Fallout Wasteland Warfare - they have so many of the items we've looted in game for scrap! We grabbed these first because of the typewriter (oh, the many runs through the Charleston Herald building, hunting those precious springs and screws). We each picked a suitcase color from the game, and I walked her through stippling and osl through the airbrush. She did awesome! We wanted to take a picture with the suitcases in Fallout 76 but realized we didn't have the plans to make them at my base. The hunt began! We searched the spawn spots each night we played. We found the cream one early, and this weekend, we finally tracked down the green one! Since we finished the markers last night, we took a moment out of tonight's gaming session to snap a pic of us with them in the cult sanctum I've been building. Mission accomplished! On to the next!
