My take on an updated version of the classic @nikebasketball shiloute from the 90s...the Nike Air Swift. Wanted to reimagine a classic shoe and update it with modern day tech. Upper: Engineered mesh for lightweight breathability. The Fin near the top eyelit is reminiscent to the original plastic eyelit...it's used to bring the upper closer to the ankle. The colar is one piece neoprene bootie for a better one to one fit Flybands that run underneath the swoosh and engineered mesh, peeks through as eyelits and hugs the foot for extra support when tightened with laces. Midsole: The midsole is a combination of phylon with a piece of react in the back of the midsole for extra comfort The structured heel counter is plastic and helps for support as well as keeping the foot on the footbed Cushion: The cushion setup is a full length articulated zoom that is embedded in the strobel board. There's also a large Zoom unit in the forefoot for ultimate energy return. When I was in 6th grade, I hit my first big growth spurt. My mom was reluctant to spend more than $60 on shoes during this period. However one day while at the local mom n pop (Sport Circle) there was one lone pair of Nike Air Swift in an 8.5 on the discount floor for $29.99. That’s the size I’d been in for a few months so mom grabbed them for me (nerdy me slide six). I was pumped to own a pair, even if they weren’t the white/red/black like I’d initially wanted. Our time together was short lived however. Roughly two months after buying those I shot from an 8.5 to a 10, and never got to wear them again. Pip was wearing the white/black/red colorway of the Swift with the word “4-Peat” written on the sides in black sharpie. To add insult to injury, Pip then taunted Ewing and Spike Lee who was sitting courtside. . . While the Bulls would go on to win Game 6, the Kicks would have the last laugh, taking the series in 7.
