Suspended globes to dress the marquee and multi-coloured organic-style installation in the bar at @theoaklandshotel for Robyn and Peter’s wedding AKA ‘WestFest’ 🌈 When Robyn and I first met for a venue recce last year, her enthusiasm and excitement for their wedding day was palpable and welcomingly infectious. The clarity of vision was masterful and I was given remarkably comprehensive plans and inspirations for the decor. One of her standout projects was a kaleidoscope of pom-poms, Robyn planned to hand make garlands and backdrops to bring more colour and texture to the decor. Come installation day I was blown away by the sheer number of handmade pom-poms that were arriving, dwarfing my balloon quantities by hundreds! I can only imagine the hours that must have been spent making these. Robyn, I bow to thee.🙌 I had the pleasure of setting up while Robyn, Peter and their supportive families all mucked in to transform the blank white marquee at Oaklands Hotel into a colour bomb. ‘WestFest’ was ready to commence. To Robyn and Peter, I hope that you had a fantastic day, you certainly deserved it after all the hard work that went into creating the day you wanted - your way. 16 yrs! Happy anniversary to myself 16 yrs in the hair & makeup biz!! LinkedIn reminded me or else I'd have forgotten! I can't actually believe it's been that long! So much has happened and so much has changed! I've been through a few huge life changes, recessions, a plague and 3 city relocations since the start of it all! Myself and the business made it through it all with only a few scars and bruises, which I'm kind of proud of. I've learnt so much and the business has evolved a huge amount! I started out in fashion and music and have evolved to weddings, commercial H&Mu, brought back my artistic roots and started drawing and painting again along with adding tattooing and Microblading over the years! The main thing is I've always left space to evolve! I've always kept the core of the business as hair and makeup but giving myself space to be creative meant that I could grow as a person and an artist! I sometimes forget that this is my job. That I created a job, for myself..that I am infact a business owner. People will ask me 'what do you do?' And I will say 'I run my own business' and then inside my head I'm like 'woah , you run your own business! BIZNIZZZZ' Anyway! That's me rambling! Congratulations to Lauren & Richard who were married on Friday in Norwich! I absolutely love a city wedding and with this fine pair we were guaranteed an awesome day 😊 L&R got ready at the lovely @assembly_house, married at @NorwichCastle and had their reception at @cosyclub_norwich so we had a good tour of the city! I really enjoyed having a little wander with them to Elm Hill, by the river, etc and taking some fun shots inside the Cosy Club too. What a cool place! It was my first time inside there despite walking past this former bank a million times. I had no idea the architecture was so interesting including that amazing big skylight (a "must have" shot in their itinerary). There were lots of smiles and laughter throughout their day and I was very grateful they asked me to capture those moments for them. Thanks so much guys!!
