I was absolutely determined to make the most of my NYC trip and holy cow it was amazing. April 19th I woke up before the sun came up to ferry over to the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn bridge (just cause I wanted to). I was determined to get a little sun on this trip! It was cloudy 75% of the time so I wanted a good sunrise. The sun didn’t allow for a golden rise but poking out was good enough for me! I got to explore Dumbo and I just fell in love with everything on that side! The bridges, the views, the coffee shops! I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and back to my hotel. I had such a great client call in my cozy hotel bed (what do they put in those mattresses) and decided to wing the rest of the day. First up was dim sum that blew my socks off. Walked through Chinatown and ended up in Union Square Park (where I met these lovely people). Somewhere through the day I decided on Central Park and jumped on the subway. I got off early to see the public library! My feet- somehow- said “keep goin” so I stumbled upon the Cathedral & Times Square as well! As I’m writing I’m remembering, but this was the day I tried to bike (not electric) through Central Park and got 💩 on by a bird and and almost crashed my bike into multiple taxis (switched to electric) and busted a mission to find a free bathroom in Times Square.. The Disney Store.. You’re welcome. wow All this and the thing that still pulls my heart the most from the day was these two. I was walking in Union Square Park with my camera shoved all the way down in my handbag under some lipgloss and an eyelash curler. I happened upon a market! So much to look at yet I kept watching the couple right in front of me. Completely wrapped in each others arms. Laughing, little tickles, sweet kisses. I asked if I could take a few photos of them- we walked just around the next corner of the market and I left with these and so much joy. They were just as sweet as the love they showed to each other. Grateful. Fulfilled.
