Vehicle: Mercedes CLS 55 Service: Bacon Fender Repair Yousef reached out to have 3 Mercedes rolled. When he brought in his CLS 55 and his nephew's C63AMG, I saw how extensive tge damage was to his front fenders. I knew I couldn't repair them 100%, but any improvement would be good. Passenger side was super torn up from hitting the tire repeatedly, then something tried to push the lip in which stretched and cratered the panel. Driver's side was also stretched, but the damage was less severe. Passenger side was repaired about 65%. SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. – On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Capistrano Area and Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) San Clemente Stationcombined resources and conducted an enforcement campaign to focus on a growing problem of reckless driving and illegal street/highway racing activities that has been occurring in response to the South Orange County Cars and Coffee Event. This event attracts a large crowd of car enthusiasts to include exotic vehicles, motorcycles, and street racing groups. Based on a conservative estimation, several hundred vehicles attend this event on a weekly basis. The CHP Capistrano Area and OCSD San Clemente station get inundated with calls for service relating to vehicles traveling at high rate of speeds to include reckless driving and racing, each Saturday, as vehicles travel to and from the San Clemente Area for the event. As a result of the dangerous driving, the CHP Capistrano Area has investigated several traffic crashes relating to the event. In addition, spectators have caused traffic safety issues as they gather on over-passes to video cars arriving to and leaving the event. The mission for this enforcement campaign was to strictly enforce all laws related to reckless driving and illegal street/highway racing activities. The enforcement operation resulted in 232 traffic citations, 2 arrests, 7 vehicle impounds, and 21 verbal warnings. She's done! Super happy with how this project came out. Aidan reached out a few weeks back wanting to get this @socalgarageworks widebody installed on his Ford Focus ST. When I took on the project, I had NO IDEA he had been wanting to do this for almost 3 YEARS! Fat Stance paint matched the pieces, cut and seam-sealed the fenders, and precisely installed the flares and front lip with 3M tape and stainless steel hardware. here’s a 🇯🇵🇺🇸Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo at @carsandcoffeeclassics in Anaheim! This is the Dodge version of the Mitsubishi 3000GT, although I think this one has had a 3000GT bumper swap. now here’s something really unusual from last weekend’s @sundaysteeloc — a 🇬🇧BAC Mono single-seater racecar!! Unfortunately these pictures are not very good due to the crowd of people standing around the car… (Usually car show attendees are more conscious of people taking pictures, but oh well!) However, this thing was too cool and too rare, and since I’m unlikely to see another one any time soon, I wanted to give it a post. BAC is Briggs Automotive Company, a Liverpool-based company that was founded in 2009 specifically to produce these small, light, but road-legal single seaters. today was @sundaysteeloc and this very fancy lime green 🇺🇸’68 Chevrolet Corvair was a big highlight! The owner came from a family of Corvair enthusiasts— this car first belonged to the owner’s dad! But it’s now gone through a very extensive resto-mod style restoration, but still with a Corvair flat six. But this is not an ordinary Corvair engine—this one has been bored out to (I think) around 3.4 L from the standard 2.7 L size. Thus required custom forged pistons, custom crank, etc. etc. so that this car now makes over double (perhaps close to 3x) the stock horsepower! Pretty amazing to get such performance out of the modest Corvair!!! I always find this line of Nissans to have a very confusing naming scheme… The Nissan Silvia is a JDM car, however the S13 was sold in the USA as the 240SX, but with the frontend from the 180SX, which is another S13 platform car sold in Japan. (The Silvia was sold at Nissan Prince stores exclusively, whereas the 180SX was sold at Nissan Bluebird stores. The 180SX was also sold in Europe rebadged as 200SX. Note that the 200SX name was used in the US for the S12 cars. See, this is all confusing!) In any case, despite being a fan of popup headlamps, I do think that the Silvia frontend looks better than the 180SX version.
