Finally had some time to dig into the Insight and start the repairs! Let's just say things escalated very quickly lol. Full drive train swap along with a ton of other parts and a minor restore. So what happened? Well, a few months ago, on my way to work, I heard a loud bang followed by a ton of smoke and overheating. The engine was fine but something was up with the cooling system, maybe a busted rad/water pump? Towed it home and it sat while I focused on the Sedan. Well, I figured out the failure. The serpentine belt tensioner rotted out and busted which caused the belt to come off the water pump. She overheated and then the plastic expansion tank busted open (which caused the smoke). This would have been an easy fix but after 240k rough, salty miles, I figured it would be best to pull the crusty engine. Yes, the chassis is aluminum but everything else in steel was RUSTY. It was finally time to completely swap all mechanical parts to the much better condition parts I've been hoarding from that mint 140k parts car I gutted a while ago. Basically, everything forward of the firewall is swapped over. Here's the low-mileage parts list; -Engine that doesn't burn and leak oil everywhere, -6MT trans that doesn't have a crunchy 2nd, -Non-rusted shifter cables, -Electric steering rack that doesn't stick with good tie rods, -Axles that aren't rotted, -Clean front dampers that aren't blown out, -Fresher LCAs with nicer ball joints and knuckles, -WORKING AC SYSTEM, -CAT and exhaust that doesn't leak, -Fresh engine mounts, -Non-rusty brackets. It's honestly going to feel like a brand-new car and I'm so excited! Can't wait to have my daily back and put another 100k miles on it. This whole month of April has been a ton of work, I think it’s been my busiest month of 2024! I low key think I might cancel going to meets in May, with only one exception THE HONDA MEET. This weekend at least, was super chill. I mean I out in extra overtime this week and I got to extra chill over the weekend while still enjoying great cars and great company. Bit late to the party but… @japfest_official was a huge success on a few levels. First off, having 80 cars on the @limitrco stand is insane when you see that many cars in one place. Not only that, it more than doubled in size from the previous year! That is absolutely insane!! Thank you to everyone who was a part of the stand this year! I hope you enjoyed your day. The layout of the stand was way better too so people could actually walk around the cars! (Lesson learnt from last year! Haha) Secondly, the amount of people that stopped to talk to me blew me away! I have never had that many different conversations from so many of you who have watched the videos. So many kind words about the cars and how helpful the content has been. Everyone said the cars are better in person too, which is always something I am unsure about. Just thank you! The amount of support I felt from you all was incredible. Thirdly, it was so cool to see so many people with LimitR stickers and clothing. Physically seeing the support from you with your hard earned money is unbelievable. I look forward to growing the brand more and this is only possible because of your support and I can’t thank you enough for choosing to buy something from me. Finally, the response on the video has been the strongest of any of my Japfest videos so far. I am stoked that people look forward to seeing the show through my eyes. This year was the hardest to manage as I wasn’t expecting to have so many amazing conversations with people and that really ate into the time I had to see all the cars. What a problem to have! I definitely missed a lot of cars due to the wind too (man it was so crazy windy). You already know that I will be doing another stand next year and I am sure it’s going to sell out even faster so once I announce it, get booking. I reckon I could double the size of the stand again with the amount of people that messaged me asking if there was space this year! LETS AIM FOR BIGGEST STAND OF 2025!! UK 2ZZ Centre RPM Conversion, complete for a customer in the UK 🇬🇧 ✅UK 2ZZ speedo unit - supplied ✅Centre RPM Conversion £225 ✅Needle colour change £15 ✅Indicator LED’s £5 A Yellow carbon effect vinyl has been used on this custom centre tach dial face (other carbon effect vinyl colours are available) as well as utilising outer bands and Green ‘Lift’ section as used on previous designs. LED’s have been changed to White behind the MPH and RPM sections, Pink/Purple behind the LCD and Purple indicator LED’s have been fitted. A centre RPM conversion has been made to the circuitboard to swap RPM & MPH signals over. Finally, both needles have been changed from Orange to Purple before being calibrated.
