Haumea IV - Pua Hau All kine kanaka from each generation make a community. Haumea manifested as Hinahaukaekae and gifted us a tree that can be used in so many ways. Although Hinahaukaekae struggled to find her place in the scheme of things, when she turned into the hau tree, she was able to serve everyone in her community. There are many powerful ha'awina in her story, most importantly that there is a place for each one of us. We all have value and are born of the aloha of our most remote akua and kūpuna - from the 'aunaki ahi kanaka, the fire plough that creates the spark of human life (often made of hau wood)!
