Feeling a weird kind of jangly energy this morning. The last time I pulled cards at the office, the 9 of Swords came out and here it is again. The anxiety is not work related. With the 10 of Pentacles, I think I've just stressed myself out about money. I treated myself at the gem show and had dinner and drinks after with my friend. (We both desperately needed the catch-up time.) The gem show is only once a year here and I know I'm going to buy stuff. Thank you for sharing these images of The Radiant Tarot! I have been looking for this deck off and on for the last couple months. I knew I had put it in a pouch. I thought there was a chance I had tucked it behind the guidebooks on my shelf, which I do sometimes when I’m running out of space. I thought maybe I had relegated it to the attic, which I’ve also done because I’m running out of space in this tiny apartment... Turns out it was in one of my cabinets on the very top shelf in a very obvious place in a plain pouch but the pouch had a charm on the drawstring that I’d associated with a different deck entirely and I didn’t realize I had repurposed the bag. So as I was reorganizing decks this weekend. I needed to create space so I’ve got a box of decks to go up into the attic. It makes me sad but I’ve got to prioritize space — and also not just keep something nearby because I like to have everything around me at all times. I’m not ready to sell anything just yet. But I figure if I tuck things away for a while, I may end up unlocking the puzzle of what matters most and what I’d be okay parting with. That’s what happened with this deck anyway. I thought I had put it in the attic and suddenly the NEED to use it was strong. I’m glad I don’t make rash decisions when it comes to selling decks. I know there are a bunch I could part with... maybe... but I’m not ready just yet. Revolutions of the wheel bring evolutions. We learn to see our abundance over the lack once we eliminate distractions by going within. Once the noise of the world settles, we can see we hold the key to unlocking ourselves from places of discomfort. I have been looking for this deck off and on for the last couple months. I knew I had put it in a pouch. I thought there was a chance I had tucked it behind the guidebooks on my shelf, which I do sometimes when I'm running out of space. I thought maybe I had relegated it to the attic, which I've also done because I'm running out of space in this tiny apartment... Turns out it was in one of my cabinets on the very top shelf in a very obvious place in a plain pouch but the pouch had a charm on the drawstring that I'd associated with a different deck entirely and I didn't realize I had repurposed the bag. So as I was reorganizing decks this weekend. I needed to create space so I've got a box of decks to go up into the attic. It makes me sad but I've got to prioritize space -- and also not just keep something nearby because I like to have everything around me at all times. I'm not ready to sell anything just yet. But I figure if I tuck things away for a while, I may end up unlocking the puzzle of what matters most and what I'd be okay parting with. That's what happened with this deck anyway. I thought I had put it in the attic and suddenly the NEED to use it was strong. I'm glad I don't make rash decisions when it comes to selling decks. I know there are a bunch I could part with... maybe... but I'm not ready just yet. Revolutions of the wheel bring evolutions. I never ever remember to do these things when they’re relevant so I carved out some time before dinner to pull some cards in observation of the eclipse from @owlandbonestarot and I feel I got a pretty good amalgamation of cards. The prompts are as follows: a personal plan that needs attention, where I will use all of my courage, and how I will empower myself today. I pulled the king of swords rev., ancestor, and queen of swords I tend to lash out pretty badly when I feel hurt, when I’m scared especially, and when I’m confused primarily. I’m sure it shows up in other ways but those are the main reasons I lash out in anger. I feel the king of swords rev has been me lately. unfortunately I’ve been lashing out a lot due to those feelings and realising I need to exercise a lot more self control and part of my journey at the moment is self improvement, healing old wounds, and becoming a better communicator. Recognising feelings before they become things I lash out about. I’m acting as a loose cannon and I need to reign that in a lot more, put a lot more focus on that. in terms of history, my own history is wrought with just…terrible things. Genuinely mostly terrible things. I hate going into detail about it because I realise as I type or say it out loud how dire everything was for me coming up. I really didn’t have a fighting chance and coming to terms with that is extremely difficult and cause for even more anger for me. It’s requiring a lot of courage of me and maybe that sounds silly but facing those things at a time in my life where I am probably as safe as I can be is incredibly difficult. empowerment is a thing that’s kind of lost on me. I try to talk positively to myself, more gently. Maybe the queen of swords is telling me here that there is empowerment in vulnerability. vulnerability is truly a practice for me and an exercise in continually peeling back layers of shame, desire, lack, expression. Empowering myself may come in the form of intellectualising more and lashing out less. At least, that’s the goal. But not to my own detriment because I know that can be a scourge in and of itself. I did a quick rune reading before scooting out the door this morning. I went to bed early last night and plan to have zero plans this weekend! I need chill time desperately before going into another wild work week. The first spread in the Mercury Retrograde Boot Camp series focuses on the Tower card. The issue: {The Fool} I got a bit of a reckless vibe from this reading. The figure on this card is walking confidently, certain that another top hat wearing gentleman will pop up as her next stepping stone. She doesn't need to look down. I'm still here! Our power came back on after ~40 hours. It was pretty miserable but everything is warm and powered and stable again. It's an absolute mess outside. Giant branches and trees down. We're truly lucky to have dodged some of the major destruction that I saw elsewhere. This was the Tower moment for me. Everything slowed. Normal vices unavailable. I had a little bit of 5G so it wasn't like I was totally shut off from the world, but I also wasn't trying to use up my cell phone battery so in a way, it was a nice little forced respite. Things have been so incredibly busy at work. After Friday's prickly vibes, I am pleased so say that nonsense has been left behind in the dust. Or the snow. Because here in Maine, we just got a lovely spring snowstorm that dumped about 5" of snow. It has since changed over to sleet/rain which will continue through tomorrow so I'm hoping maybe it'll all melt and no shoveling will be necessary. Fingers crossed! It's pretty gross and icy out there and I am perfectly happy being cozy inside. We braved the icy rain to get tacos to-go last night and settled in to watch Naked and Afraid and then we lost the internet.... and then we lost power. The temps changed. It was a rain and sleet mix but everything started freezing, branches encasing in ice, breaking limbs, falling trees, snapping branches, transformers blowing. This morning it's 54° inside. No idea how long before power is restored and all of this has nothing to do with the cards yet! Our home remained generally unscathed by all the falling trees, although that fell nearby must have been huge because it shook the house.
