♟ Bobby Fischer Vs Boris Spassky, Game 1 –1972 🤩 Following a triumphant streak, defeating Taimanov (6-0), Larsen (6-0), and Petrosian (6.5-2.5) in consecutive matches, Bobby Fischer was riding high on confidence, anticipating a victory over Spassky to claim the world championship title. The highly anticipated 'Match of the Century' between Fischer and Spassky finally commenced. In a pivotal moment during one of the games, Fischer, in a seemingly equal position, made a critical error by capturing a 'poisoned' pawn with his bishop, leading to the eventual trapping and capture of his bishop. This image encapsulates Fischer's reaction as he comes to terms with his blunder. 😄 #chess #pandachess #chesspictures #history #chesshistory

♟🤩 The Greatest Chess Pictures in The World! Here is an explanation: The first picture (Lasker & Pillsbury, New York, 1893) is one of the greatest chess pictures because, obviously, it shows two of the greatest chess players ever! Emanuel Lasker, born in 24, December 1868, was a chess player and a German mathematician. He was a Jew and went to New York because of the anti-Semitism growing in Germany, more specifically in 1933. He was known for his psychological approach to the game. Furthermore, he, many times, tried to play inferior plays to make the adversary uncomfortable with the position. Harry Nelson Pillsbury, born in 5, December 1872, was a leading chess player in the United States. He won one of the most prestigious reward at the time, in 1895, in the Hastings Tournament. The second picture shows Alekhine and Capablanca in Moscow, 1913. This picture also shows two of the greatest chess players at the time! And it's interesting because it was just 1 year before the beginning of World War I. Alexander Alekhine, born in 31, October 1892, in Moscow. He won the title once in 1927 and held it until his death in 1946, with a brief interruption from 1935 to 1937 when he lost it to Max Euwe before regaining it. That totals 17 world championships!!! Capablanca, born in 19, November 1888, he was a Cuban chess player and maintained his world chess champion title for about 6 years!!! These pictures show how chess is a timeless game and how everyone, of any age, can be a part of the great history of chess. #chess #pandachess #chesshistory #chessnotcheckers #chesslover

A very exciting topic in chess is moving the king several times in the opening or the middlegame, what we know as a king walk or a king march. I just published a video explaining the main reasons that justify this strategy. Feel free to check it by visting my YouTube channel through the link in my bio.

Exchanges can often be used to save bad positions. Here we'll learn several ways to draw a game after exchanging pieces.

9/13/2021, 1:19:43 AM

Exchanging pieces when having a cramped position is a very common idea. Check my latest Youtube video 📽️ (access Youtube through link in bio) if you want to study this idea more deeply but also learn why this rule is not absolute.

Learn all about exchanges with my NEW Course 💪 Exchanging Pieces in Chess – Zero to Hero Training Hi! I hope that you’re having a great weekend. Exchanging pieces is something that will occur in most chess games. I mean, besides some quick checkmates without any exchange (that can be avoided) exchanging not one but several pieces is pretty much part of the game if we don’t count very unusual games. The three stages (opening, middlegame, ending) would probably not exist if exchanges were against the rules. I literally don’t remember any game I played where I did not exchange at least a pair of pieces. Fun fact: I recently came across a game where the first exchange occurred after 94 moves! Definitely an unusual case, as early exchanges after just a few moves are very common. 🔌 Get Instant Access: ▪️4+ hours of video lessons, including a section where I play and comment games implementing the ideas that we’ll learn ▪️A summary of everything that you will learn ▪️Lifetime access to course updates ▪️ Practical Activities ▪️Premium Instructor Support to answer your doubts ✔️ What will you learn: ▪️Understand all the reasons behind piece trades ▪️Benefit from exchanges that will improve your position in the long term ▪️Use exchanges to get direct advantages ▪️Clearly identify possible exchanges, both even and uneven, in any given position ▪️Know when you should not exchange pieces 🔷 By enrolling today, you get access for FREE for one month by accessing Skillshare through the link in my bio.
