Imagine; one beautiful Paris morning you get up early in your hotel, you have your croissant & coffee, and then you go to the Panthéon. You walk around the building and visit the graves of the exceptional French men and women such as Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Émile Zola, Jean Moulin and Marie Curie. It is now almost lunch time and you start feeling hungry again. So then, you remember this post because it talks about the best lunch spot which is located 10 minutes away from the Pantheon, and it could easily qualify as one of the best in all of Paris. You are greeted with super sincerity by Aurélien. He is working like a bee. He takes the orders, he serves the food and he gets the bills. Julie is the bee in the kitchen. She cooks, she cleans and she serves, too. This young couple prepares the menu according to the daily products at the market. That day, we shared a vegetable confit salad with feta cheese as a starter. That salad gave me the idea to barbecue eggplants and add walnuts and feta cheese to serve with a good steak for my summer vacation dinners 😋 The balance of the sauce and the cooking level of the vegetables were so good that we wiped clean the plate. Then, I chose the pork tenderloin with zattar and honey mustard, my wife chose the salmon with chili pepper, lemon, coriander and grilled almonds. My second article is online now @gastereamag. It’s a new online-only magazine about sustainable and collective experiments that put an emphasis on eating, drinking, humans, places, designs and ideas. For the moment, it’s only in Turkish, but I know that @arzueats has already started preparing an English version. In this article I wrote about @j.sedefdjian and her lovely restaurant @baieta_restaurant . She is a young chef from Nice. She left the previous restaurant that earned her a Michelin star and where she had been working since she was 17 to feel more free and creative. She opened her own restaurant in the 5th arrondissement. She and her partners (Sébastien in the kitchen, Grégory in the service) are doing a great job. One of her signature dishes is “Bouillabaieta”. It’s a reinterpretation of Marseilles fishermen’s recipe of the Bouillabaisse.
