Which shoe goes with this dress? I do not take it for granted that just because I know instinctively which footwear to put with every outfit, that you do too.. There are guidelines to follow that help you understand why certain footwear works with certain trouser shapes or hemlines. Hello lovely ones! I thought it was about time I spilt the tea on myself ☕️ (not literally, though that's a regular occurrence for me...) I'm Lydia, I'm 31 and I live in East London. I love people, I love clothes, and I love helping people feel good in their clothes. I also love rollerskating, football and carrot cake, but I won't talk about that now. Becoming a personal stylist has been such a natural progression for me that I can't believe I didn't do it sooner, but here I am. Something about turning thirty, I don't know, but I finally gave myself permission to pursue my passion. I've always loved clothes and I always wanted to build a career around them, either as a designer, a fashion historian or a vintage shop owner (I tried that briefly but realised I liked all of my stock too much to sell and wanted to keep all of it, which didn't work particularly well...) I'm a big fan of vintage clothes in particular. I love the stories they tell, the uniqueness of the items, and how every piece of vintage I own is a little treasure that can take me back to the place and the person I was with when I first fell in love with it. Clothes can be a joyful form of self-expression, but if your wardrobe isn't really working hard for you, getting dressed can be overwhelming, emotional, stressful, time-consuming, expensive and wasteful. Sustainability is an important issue for me, and understanding the impact that our fast fashion shopping habits are having on people and our planet. Must admit when anyone says ‘tell me everything’ I always think of the scene in the Goonies film when Chunk starts with his nursery days. Just A Snapshot... into a fantastic session I finished on last week . My fellow stylists, I'm sure can relate to this - that familiar feeling, when you absolutely just connect with your client and you finish the session on such a huge high and excited for their next steps 😍 . My client was someone who, for lots of different, was seeking a bold, new adventure for 2023 after what had been a hard couple of years for them.
