How freaking cute is she?! So she’s growing her hair out from a much shorter cut but she told me she needed shape. The front pieces were heavy and bang-like and there was a big gap/disconnection between them and the rest of the face framing, which is pretty typical for hair growing out from a pixie. This is what we did…… I softened the bang section to make it look like INTENTIONAL fringe. I added a ton of layers and texture in the back to remove weight where it tends to accumulate and to enhance her natural texture. What we ended up with was a textured, shag inspired bob to get her through the next stage of growing her hair out. Thank you, Rebekah. Common behind the chair questions with Curls- "Should I be doing the seaweed method?" "What about the Denman brush curl set?" "Once I was taught a Rake & Shake" "Plopping and the deep pulsed scrunching?" Honestly I could keep writing different methods I've been asked about! The common theme here though is that all of these refer to a method of 'setting' or moving the hair around to dry in a desired way. The best news about this? There is no one right way so if you tried one and it didn't work- DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! Say you tried one and loved it but it takes forever? Well again- don't worry about doing it all the time. Move onto a different to see if it's faster! My personal be all end all answer for curl setting is that it should be a perfect balance of which setting method yields results you are happy with while also being a method that is realistic for your lifestyle. What I am doing when I'm not behind the chair???? As you can see, a large variety of things hahaha! Being a small business owner is wacky though because between heartfelt transparent employee conversations, I'm jiggling the toilet flapper while pondering the next upgrade in decor and if I finished doing my quickbooks categorizations? Somewhere between picking up shop supplies, brainstorming our social media for the coming months, continuing my own education so that I can be resource for everyone who works at Transfiguration--I still manage to laugh A LOT with everyone there.
