As always I like to try new things for the cars I drive. Nothing new here as I did install the @individualracingparts V2 Shifter into the F30 12 hours before track day 😂. I promised myself I wouldn’t but I figured why not...first of IRP was awesome to work with throughout this process! I got it within 3 days from Lithuania 🇱🇹DHL international. . . . Install wasn’t bad as this is my first “chassis mounted” shifter. Remove exhaust, driveshaft, heatshield, center console. Leave shifter in neutral, fix mount the bracket and drill holes. Mount and reinstall as removed. . . . Shifter did amazing and feels like a different car with how direct each gear grab becomes. Saturday was awesome! Got some good seat time in a Track I’ve long hated (West Side Thill) . Technical as hell of a track but learned a lot and will come back specially with SCCA Reno Possibly in October! Groups was well sorted out with less than 10 per each run group. Never ran into traffic and met great people like @gregsraceparts ! I matched my PB from over a year ago (1:30) but this time with worst tires than before ( dropped down to RSR compared to the RR I typically ran) as well detuned the RS a bit more. Stole the steering wheel from my fiesta since planning to take her out next weekend for SCCA time trial event. I noticed from the GoPro videos my arms were too extended with the set up currently. The race seat being fixed mounted and no more extension on the steering column adjustment, I needed to somehow buy another 3-5” ( that’s what she said) .... Stole the party ST steering wheel for now. . . If anybody does this mod be-careful on the clock spring , sht can go sideways fast. Like every single light on AWD Hill Assist ABS off. Steering angle needs to match with the clock spring movement to work properly. Don’t make the mistake I made few years back, make sure the connector rectangle is square into the NRG short hub hollow peg. Sinch it down 4-5 Ugga Dugga for insurance. NVM... just don’t do it. Psssst thanks to @codip426 and @damondmotorsports we ultimate figured out that the Wildwood rotor hats are thinner than OEM THUS bringing the new wheel/tire set up DEEPER into the wheel well, causing that tire rub issue at turn2 under load! The difference is around 2.2mm DEEPER into the knuckle than original spec rotors! Crazy stuff but that’s what I get for Frankensteining my RS! 😎 The new 3mm spacer here is about 1mm further out in comparison to a stock rotor, I’ll be replacing it with 5mm to give me 3mm total clearance with the Wilwood brakes! . . . . This was the blow out from drivers front wheel last weekend at Big Willow. I ran oversized tires on the 8.5 and manage to blow the sidewalls due to coilover rub at Turn2. Passenger side had no rub so I’m basing this on the tire flex under load during Turn2. I manage to limp the car back to the paddock approximately 2 miles on the @fifteen52 Chicane wheels going 30-40mph. These bad boys still balanced out with new tire at only 17lbs of roadforce. Strong AF to limp home 2 miles with no bends or cracks! #keepsending Swipe right! . . . . .
