2021.05.21 Bin Universe Update Bin was uploading these landscape photos on Universe but it was not letting him. The page kept saying "There are no posts". He ended up sharing the photos on Uni PM and his predicament with Roha. Along with not being able to post them, he also said he had to upload them one by one. He hoped there was a multi-photo upload to make it easier. I can only assume that Roha started complaining in PM too on his behalf. Bin, being the kind and polite person that he is, told Roha not to say harsh words because the CEO of Universe might read them. He urged them to stick to the facts and he very kindly raised his issues using the app and hoped that they will be resolved soon. He closed by affirming his love for Universe. I say this over and over, but it's through these simple and seemingly mundane situations that we've seen, known and come to love Bin as a calm, composed and kind person. Might be a weird topic, but today we're going to talk about sweat 😁 If you remember in my previous post of Bin and Sua, she said that she gets hot easily and sweats a lot. Looks like it runs in the family because it was the same case with Binnie. I'm sure you recall him wringing his pleather outfit during the One M/V shoot where a considerable amount of sweat came out of it. But one memory he said he wanted to erase, which you can see he wrote down in slide 3 (red underline), was his wet armpits during Baby promotions. He even talked about this in the Knowing Bros. episode with Eunwoo (I couldn't insert a clip 'cause JTBC takes them down 😔). The clip on slide 4 may or may not have been one of those activities he said he was embarrased of 🤭 The last clip is during the UniKon online concert where he and Eunwoo were caught checking each others' armpits (from the looks of it, Bin seemed safe but Eunwoo wasn't as he shook his head LOL). Of course sweating is normal and it's also normal to be conscious about it, but I think it just proves how Bin gave 100% of his energy each time in his performances. We sometimes use sweat figuratively to refer to someone's efforts but in Bin's case, it literal and figurative. Did you know that Bin and some of his 98 liner friends were part of a campaign called Heart? It was a project by Ungjae, also one of their friends through his company The Faker Club (now called Way Better). There was both a photobook and an offline exhibit that showed photographs taken by the artists who participated in the campaign. Umji, SinB and Suji even visited and took photos at the exhibit (last slide). This is also where that memorable photo of Ungjae resting on Bin's shoulder came from. We all know how Bin loved taking pictures of landscapes or sceneries. His contributions to the project are in slides 6-7 (Bin's photo in slide 7 is that of the blue sky). I almost forgot what today is. Ticket selling for Diffusion Manila happened on this day last year. I joined a group of Arohas who queued up at a mall near my place. I remember some of them camping as early as 6am the previous day. To be honest, eventhough I wanted to see Binsan so bad, I doubted whether the premium seats would get sold out that fast, and boy oh boy was I wrong. I stood in line at 3am and when it was my turn to get the tickets, I was told there aren't any more SVIP seats. My soul was crushed. I wanted to see Bin up close. I asked the lady at the window if she could check again and she did, refreshing her screen multiple times but it was sold out (at least for that location). I wanted to cry. I returned to my seat and attempted to secure online instead. There really were no SVIP seats left. I was forced to get the next best seat (VIP) but I just couldn't shrug the feeling of disappointment. I took a cab home, still in disbelief of my bad luck when a friend of mine texted me and said she was able to secure an SVIP ticket for me. I asked my family and friends to also try to secure tickets online while I was in queue at the ticket booth. I couldn't believe it. I was ecstatic and overwhelmed I started crying in the cab. The driver kept looking at his rearview mirror wondering what was happening to me. I'll never forget the experience. The happiness at the possibility of seeing the love of my life. My ticket was also picked for the photo op with Binsan on D-day. I never win at anything I swear. I had to do a double take and ask my sister to check my ticket number if it's really true. When she said it matched, I shrieked in excitement. It must be what it feels like to win a lottery jackpot. I don't know if I'll ever be that excited to line for tickets for another artist again. My Ddankong is so, so, special to me. I finally finished designing Mozzabin! I fashioned his outfit after "farmer" Bin on Show Champion. Isn't he cute?! I made his little jumper from the pockets of my shorts. I wish the denim color were lighter to match Bin's but I didn't have any fabric in this shade so I just dismantled my shorts and used it 😛 It was a task to make because I do not know how to sew. I even made a little pattern but ended up just winging it. I had to redo multiple times because the fit wasn't right. Took me about 6 hours or so to make! I guess I should've paid more attention in home economics class 😅 His shirt, straw hat and little hand rake were bought online. They came from overseas so it took a while to arrive. Bin had little black puffy/pompom things on top of his hat (can't be seen in his photo here) which I also added to Mozzabin's. They're from a headband with fluffy cat ears design which I removed and cut to fit on Mozzabin's hat. This is actually the second hat I ordered because the first one was too small. I didn't account for his ears so they would not fit. I don't think I've been proud of myself than when I completed this. I don't have any creative bone in my body but was able to make something I'd consider even pretty (tooting my horn now). Bin has been such an inspiration to me that I'm able to do things I didn't know I could. Thank you so much Binnie. I hope you like it and I hope you're proud of me too 💜🌙 P.S. Apart from the smiley scar on his right cheek, Bin also had a scar on his forehead. He said it was from when his warts were surgically removed when he was younger. When I saw the clip of him explaining this, I remembered the Ddoca video where he had a bandage on his forehead telling Rocky he was under treatment. I'm thinking *maybe he underwent scar removal because it was no longer very visible in later photos unlike before (2nd and 3rd slides). They even had to draw it on for the Madness MV/promotions to make it prominent. Maybe this is why our boy likes Harry Potter too eh? *Not posing the scar removal as fact. I had a blast at a private screening of Diffusion yesterday. So many Rohas came which is a testament to how much Binsan are loved. It was awkward at first with people just silently watching in their seats, but I'm glad everyone became more relaxed eventually - there was screaming, crying, dancing. I've already seen the film at home but watching it on a big screen and being surrounded by fellow Rohas made it special. I knew I was going to cry but during Bin's Desire stage, I just lost it. I bawled and was a little sorry for my seatmate who had to witness my ugly crying. Bin's performance is a confirmation that he was made for the stage. He owned it, leaving his audience spellbound. I am heartbroken that we will never witness it again. I was flipping through the pages of the Ordinary Holiday photobook when I got to this photo of Bin. I'm forever on the internet scouring for his pictures but this is the first time I've seen this. In one of my previous posts, I talked about Bin's image training and where he finds inspiration for the expressions or gestures in his performances. Here he relates that Nick Wilde's expression in the original story for Zootopia was the inspiration behind the iconic choker pull move in Bad Idea (Inkigayo). He made a similar movement in the past where he caresses his neck (All Night, With You) but adding a choker turned it into a key point and made the entire performance even more memorable.
