It’s Project Leicht RS2 Quantum Syncro Intro time ! From tear down to driving car this is the semi chaotic story of my first car! What if Audi/Volkswagen/Porsche had put their latest 5 cylinder 20v turbo rally engine in the B2 chassis. 600-700 lbs less and with shorter gear ratios , this is the story of building my dream car, or rather, finding a Honda Engineer (Kevin Dopatka) who was passionate about early 5 cylinder Audi stuff. This is the early stages story of putting this beast together. 3B 20v 5 with AAN fueling and AUD snake and exhaust manis mated to a 200 20v 5 speed transmission with stage 2 clutch. Iroz K26 hybrid turbo Breathing into a fully custom waste gate integration and 3 inch front to back exhaust with Dahlbach and Wagner tuning bits including a super trick intake manifold and a custom intercooler from a C6 RS6. Larger fully custom radiator, all sorts of custom wiring , relocated stealth battery and 5 bolt conversion with Porsche brakes. Very custom, Very IMSA noises. Very excited. So, while I have talked about this in my stories and on TikTok I realized I hadn’t made an official post. This Quantum Syncro is the first car I ever owned . I briefly had a turbo swapped MC Quantum but it wasn’t brilliant. Enter my friend and trained automotive engineer @aktapod . I don’t have enough superlatives to really articulate how he has worked miracles. From the off he made an extensive spreadsheet of everything we would need. It’s been a beautiful process and @wagnertuningusa @ecstuning @kw_glen @wagnertuning have stepped up and made the dream of Project Leicht RS2 Quantum Syncro a reality. What would it look like if Audi and Porsche had breathed on the lowly Quantum Syncro (which weighs in on our scales at around 2900lbs) and gave it the love they gave the later generation 80 (RS2 weighs a bit over 3500lbs) . With an Iroz K26, built head, Wagner intake manifold, intercooler, AAN ignition and other tricks our Leicht RS2 Quantum Syncro will make significantly more power than an RS2. Kevin has fabricated a full stainless exhaust. It’s getting Porsche door handles, Porsche Macon brakes, fully custom suspension , 5 bolt hub conversion. I couldn’t be more elated. We are hoping to have it roar to life next weekend in Carlisle. All the remaining bits and body work will follow soon after.
