Before & After - Glory (Vintage Dawn Doll) another Dawn, and all that I restored. She wasn’t too too bad. But she had more work than the Long Locks that I just did. Glory had to have her face recolored and her lips repainted. I also scrubbed her and washed her hair and reset her bangs. I added some blush and picked the fuzzies out of her eyelashes. Before & After - blonde swirl Such a rarity to find one with such great coloring and no green ears! She received a bath, had her hair restyled back to its original set, light touch ups & brows. Also, color wash was given to her fingernails and toenails, a bit of blush and nylon post / safe pearl earrings. I retire her original yellow ribbon back into her hair. Although her owner retained her original Bobbi pin, I did not place it back in her hair as I did not want it to ever oxidize and turn green. So, it was tucked into a tiny zip bag and placed in the box with her. I know this post is a little off from what my normal posts are, but I just wanted to share. I recently stumbled upon this case. I recently saw a beautiful picture, where a gentleman had his case displayed with all of his mod dolls on it, and I fell in love. Then a couple of days later this one popped up for sale in West Virginia. A very good friend of mine, picked it up for me and mailed it to me. I want to use it for a backdrop for the outfits that I’m going to sew. I made this dress last week. I will have a couple more available soon! I just had to share my joy with this case. It is in exquisite condition! I will share more pictures later. I have to finish an order today. This doll is some sort of Kurhn-adjacent. I think her name is Claire. She used to have big, poufy hair and a big bald spot in the back. She also had a big ol’ scratch in her left eye even though she was NRFB. I rerooted her with Restoredoll Gingersnap saran hair and painted some extra details in her eyes to cover up the scratch. After years, and I’m talking 20+ years of looking, I finally found this book! I read it when I was in third or fourth grade, and I loved it! After growing into adulthood, I remembered this book about this little girl and her dolls, and I began seeking it out. I could not remember the title of the book or the author. I only remembered the subject matter, and that the cover was pink with black and white ink drawings on it. So, I really did not have a whole lot to go on. I had a pretty much given up hope in finding it. I had asked librarians and friends in the doll community and nobody knew of it. Last week I was laying in bed before going to sleep and this book crossed my mind again. So, off I went trying to find it! Lo and behold, I FOUND IT THIS TIME!!!! I found it on archives.org and read it within an hour and I cried as I finished it. I love it every bit as much as I did as a child! Although there is some fading to the cover, it is a first edition.
