2024年4月 Apr./2024 NikonS3 W-Nikkor35mm 1/250 f4 Agfa APX100 　お笑いコンビのようなネパール人のお二人さん。俺の愛用のチェキが気に入ったらしく、瞬く間にフィルム一本消費しやがった。なんか「ショートコント　記念撮影」とかネタをやり出しそうな勢い。　関西弁を操る外国人が好きだ。こちらで生まれ育つのだから自然とそうなるのだが、子供は語学の上達が段違いに早い。大人はどうしても同じ国出身の人間同士で固まりがちだが子供は違う。先入観なしで子供の世界に入っていくから、どんどんその国の言葉を吸収していくのだ。だから大概が親御さんより日本語達者で、時々親の通訳をしたりしているのが微笑ましい。　この小さな人たちが成長して大きくなっても、心の片隅に俺と遊んだ時の記憶が少しでも残っていたら嬉しい。今は地域コミュニティが崩壊してしまって、同じ町内に住まう者でも他者との距離感がなかなか難しい。我々の国はいつからこんな社会になってしまったんだろう。俺が子供の頃は、近所の大人たちはもうちょっと近いところに存在して居た。　近所の田んぼで俺の背丈より長くてぬらぬら光る青大将を捕まえてくれた高校生のお兄ちゃんとか、廃材削って器用に木刀作ってくれたおっちゃん、立派な空気銃を見せてくれたおっちゃんもいた。そのおっちゃんは公園で樹に留まっている雀を狙って墜としてくれた。こういうことって子供にとったら衝撃的な出来事で、今でもキラキラと鮮明に憶えている。自分の人生に決してマイナスの影響を与えてるわけではなくて、楽しくてとても懐かしい記憶で、なんとなく自分という人間を形作っているものの一部のような気がする。 #nikon #nikons3 #nikkor35mm #filmcamera #selfdevelopedfilm #streetphotography #filmphotography #snapshot #bwphotography #agfa #agfaphoto #ニコン#ニコンs3 #ニッコール35mm #白黒写真 #モノクロ写真#フィルム好きな人と繋がりたい #ファインダー越しの私の世界 #フィルムで残す日常 #自家現像 #アグファ#キリトリセカイ

Good morning. Happy Monday. Here are 7 of the 12 photos that I like enough from this past weekend of us participating in the town cleanup. I’m still trying to get comfortable about using film from a bulk roll. I love not having to shoot 36 or 24 exposures on a 35mm roll before developing. Image 1: the dental floss picks that were EVERYWHERE. Did people simply replace wooden toothpicks with these to satisfy their habit of picking their teeth in public? Image 2: a railroad track switch (I think?). We felt so badass going onto the tracks to clean. The train doesn’t run through here on weekends. Image 3: a dead hummingbird? Image 4: local activist @civil4change Tamisha Civil, whom I met for the first time. Image 5: our trash pick up station leader Image 6: my fam Image 7: the tracks I wish I could have used a red or yellow filter to not have such a washed out sky. But minimizing fuss was important. We have a good community. —- Ken and I went to see “Civil War”, the new dystopian film by Alex Garland. It’s important you understand that the film does not exactly apply the politics we currently live in the fictional events, though there are references drawn. Without giving any spoilers, there is a very personally triggering scene involving two East Asians. In the trailers, you may have already seen the unnamed Jesse Plemons character ask, “What kind of Americans are you?” The film doesn’t explain why the US was in a civil war. It doesn’t need to. The point is to illustrate what lawlessness a country in disarray can look like. It’s not even clear who is a good guy and who is a bad guy—all sides are cold-blooded murderers. We are just following the journalists (centering around two women war photographers) to observe. The challenging question the film poses is “Can we just observe without participating?” Thanks, @conspiracy.of.cartographers for recommending the film. It is a warning and reminder to appreciate the peace that we have the luxury to enjoy in the US. There’s so much to love about the film—stunning cinematography and soundtrack. I love the use of complete silence and birds chirping—some of the most eerie sounds. More in comments.

Four of the most beautiful things!! Years ago I could never have foreseen using these! 1. my 8x10 Kodak Master view camera. 2. a 1948 Kodak Ektar Wide Field 10" lens. 3. a fine 1950's Ries Hollywood tripod. 4. and most recent: a beautiful necklace made for me by @the_lost_necklace It came all the way from Rome, Italy!! I am so humbled by these things of beauty and surely don't deserve them, but they will stand the test of time and be put to their intended uses daily!!
