The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 SE "Flachbau" (930) was produced from 1981 to 1989, with 1989 being the sole year of production for the 930 Turbo. The Flachbau, which translates to "flatnose" or "slantnose", is a custom upgrade option for the 930-Generation of cars that features a 935-style slantnose instead of the standard 911 front end. The Flachbau has an upgraded body, a 330 bhp engine, and a five-speed gearbox. The 930 Turbo Flachbau is one of the rarest 911s, with only 948 produced in total. The 1989 930's are considered the most sought after because of the five-speed gearbox that makes better use of the Turbo's power.

Porsche offered the custom “Flachbau”upgrades via the Special Wishes Programme now Sonderwunsch, which we know today and it worked on an invitation only basis, allowing owners to customize their cars. This 1984 Porsche 911 Turbo is a rest-of-world coupe that was imported to the US in 1984 by Scottsdale Porsche & Audi, subsequently modified with slant-nose bodywork, and purchased by the seller in 1999. Its turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six is said to have been modified with 993 camshafts, a K27 turbo, a higher-capacity intercooler, and a B&B exhaust system, and the suspension was fitted with Bilstein dampers, Weltmeister sway bars, and a Stable Energies camber truss. Showing 122k miles, it's listed now on @bringatrailer! Finished in black over beige leather, the car is further equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a sunroof, air conditioning, and a Kenwood CD stereo. An oil change and replacement of the oil-tank sending unit, tires, and engine mounts are said to have been carried out in 2024. This 2002 Porsche Carrera 4S (996) is simply not your average specification, and it’s finished in a very unique and hardly seen color known as paint-to-sample ‘Violet Metallic’ over a natural leather interior in grey. This 911 Carrera 4S is decked out with a number of desirable options such as the rear window wiper (425), wheel caps with colored crest (446), supple leather front and rear (982), the advanced technic package (P04), sport exhaust system (XLF) and much more! During the debut of the fifth-generation of the Porsche 911 (the 996 in 1997) Porsche introduced one of the most drastic changes to the 911 models, and this was a water-cooled engine which then replaced the previously air-cooled engine. The 996-generation’s design was created by automotive designer, Pinky Lai, under Porsche’s former design chief Harm Lagaay. The 996 carried over very little from the previous generation, and this generation’s body design achieved a drag coefficient of Cd=0.30. The Carrera 4S model (shown here) was first introduced for the 2002 model year and shares the wide-body styling, brakes, and suspension as the turbo models. The collectibility and the desirability of the Carrera 4S model partially is due to its four-wheel drive capability. The 996-generation Carrera 4S ultimately serves as a slightly improved version of the 996 Carrera 4, and is mechanically similar to the Carrera 4 as it’s equipped with a naturally-aspirated M96 engine. The suspension featured here on the 4S is in fact a bit stiffer than what was implemented on the standard Carrera 4, ultimately resulting in improved handling. The 996-generation Carrera 4S was only offered from 2002 until 2005, with a cabriolet version being introduced in 2003. In total, it’s believed around 23,055 Carrera 4S examples were produced for this generation, including 17,298 coupes and 5,757 cabriolets. Approximately 4,802 Carrera 4S examples were produced for the 2002 model year, and it’s safe to say that not many, if any others at all were finished in this extremely rare dark purple shade! • AMMEDIANY.com
