GRATEFUL. That's what I am feeling right now as I prepare to attend Showcase, the final band competition of the marching season. 😪 My daughter is a Senior so today is going to be bittersweet, as it will be filled with lasts: Last time I wear this button Last competition Last time she marches on a field Last time she dons her uniform Last time she performs their marching show. 🎶 I could be sad, even emotional about it (OK, so maybe I AM a bit emotional 😭) but above all, I am GRATEFUL. Grateful for the Southside Band program that gave BOTH of my children a purpose. For the personal growth they experienced. Leadership skills. Self-confidence. Memories made that will last a lifetime. Friendships that felt more like extended family.
