I’ve never even thought about entering a cosplay contest at a convention before, but at this one our group was quite literally chased down and asked to join! Of course we said yes, and I felt extremely flattered that anyone even wanted us to compete! We had never done anything like this before so we had no idea what was happening but we were having so much fun! I think the last thing any of us expected was to actually win something, but we ended up getting third place with two other INCREDIBLE cosplayers winning first and second! And come to find out that @beardedcaptainamerica & @longliveevilcosplay were watching from the audience and taking photos and videos for us the whole time! 🥹🖤 This whole experience was so much fun, as well as extremely validating as a cosplayer who’s really trying to deep dive in and better myself! I had such a blast this year and I'm so glad that I got to go with a big group consisting of some of my closest friends and friends made new 🖤 we had so much fun dressing up and meeting other cosplayers at our booth at @artsyj2 as well as out and about! This weekend has been an absolute WHIRLWIND of awesomeness. Driving around the lovely Boulet Brothers and taking care of their team, hanging out with the Scream cast for late night cornhole at the hotel (and Matthew Lillard buying us all drinks), taking photos of a goofball friend showing Wayne Knight his Jurassic Park Power Wheels Jeep, meeting the amazing Eli Roth and talking film and travel, seeing so many great costumes, making friends with the cast of Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and getting to see all of our vendor friends on the show floor. It was such a pleasure driving around our incredible guests and meeting everyone. There are so many great experiences I didn't get a chance to document but this weekend will forever be in my mind.
