Ein profilierter Killer kann hinsichtlich, so manch triviale Kost in Ausnahmefällen retten, aber davon fehlt auch in "The Mutilator" jede Spur. Diese kleine Vorgeschichte reißt es nämlich nicht wirklich heraus. Daher bietet sich diese sogenannte "Perle der 80er", bedingt bis kaum zum Kauf an. Thanksgiving - Es ist angerichtet (Blu Ray) Nachdem in einer Stadt in Massachusetts schwere Unruhen am Black Friday in einer Tragödie geendet waren, terrorisiert ein mit einer Axt bewaffneter Mann die Bewohner. Die scheinbar wahllosen Rachemorde offenbaren bald einen größeren unheilvollen Plan: Die Taten scheinen seltsam inspiriert von den amerikanischen Thanksgiving-Traditionen. Die Bewohner sind in ständiger Angst, während der örtliche Sheriff zu ihrer einzigen Hoffnung wird. Regisseur Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) inszenierte den Film aufgrund eines Fake Trailers, der in „Planet Terror“ lief. Aus diesem Trailer wurde nun eine Hommage an die Slasherfilme Ende der 90er Anfang der 2000er, allen voran natürlich Wes Cravens „Scream“ Reihe. Und ja, der Film schafft es tatsächlich diesen „Who dunnit?“ Vibe und Look des großen Vorbildes einzufangen, ohne aber jemals an dessen Qualitäten heranzukommen. Einzig der gewaltgrad ist wirklich drastisch, denn hier werden Köpfe zermanscht, Gedärme herausgestochen und geschlitzt, was das Zeug hält. Gorefans kommen auf alle Fälle auf ihre Kosten. Auch der Plot ist jetzt nicht der allerbeste, immerhin gibts alle Klischees, die man an so einen Film stellt, serviert. Der Cast ist solide und auch die Black Friday/Kaufrausch Message sollte jeder herauslesen können. Natürlich gibts nach Auflösung des Killers einige Kontinuitätsfehler, die gehören aber schon fast zu diesem Genre. Slasher- und Gorefans kommen auf alle Fälle auf ihre Kosten, der Plot könnte aber etwas spannender inszeniert sein. All Fun and Games (Bluray) Werbung für @ Review: Jonah, bringt ein Messer das er im Wald gefunden hat mit nach Hause zu seinen drei Geschwistern und lässt damit einen Dämon frei, der Besitz von seinem ältesten Bruder Marcus ergreift. Unter dem Einfluss des Bösen zwingt dieser sie tödliche Versionen von Kinderspielen zu spielen, wo es keine Gewinner gibt, sondern nur Überlebende. Der Film verspricht dem Titel nach Spaß und Spiele, nur die Umsetzung vom Ganzen hält sich da etwas zurück und das Potenzial wird nicht dafür ausgenutzt. Anstatt sich hier auf die Kinderspiele zu konzentrieren wandelt der Film schnell auf den Spuren eines Slashers, der mit übernatürlichen Horror daher kommt. Wenn es dabei zu Toten kommt, hält man sich zurück und geht eher zaghaft zur Sache. Meistens geschieht dies im Off, oder im Halbdunkeln das nur wenig gezeigt wird. Die üblichen Jumpscares haben nur selten den nötigen Effekt und sind vorhersehbar. Die Charaktere sind zudem recht oberflächlich gezeichnet und bieten nur wenig Tiefe, das eine Bindung nicht wirklich entstehen kann. Deswegen ist der Film aber kein Flop und weiß durchaus in manchen Szenen zu unterhalten und liefert auch einige Momente, die spannend sind und den nötigen Horror bieten. Auch ist das Ganze nicht billig produziert und macht einen soliden Eindruck, so das auch hier keine Enttäuschung entsteht. Für alle die mal etwas Abwechslung im Genre suchen und noch nicht so viel Erfahrung damit haben, ist der Film sicher einen Blick wert. Mit Asa Butterfield und Natalia Dyer bekommt gerade die jüngere Generation bekannte Gesichter zu sehen, die aus Serien bekannt sind. Fazit: Kein Flop aber doch verschenktes Potenzial das hier noch 5/10 Punkte drin sind. Maar wat voor mens? In Sissy (2022) zien we de wereld vanuit twintiger Cecilia, die op een dag haar voormalige BFF tegenkomt. Deze Emma nodigt haar prompt uit voor haar vrijgezellenfeestje. Tijdens deze trip loopt alles anders dan Cecilia zou willen. In meerdere scènes maken we kennis met Cecilia’s leven, waarin ze een succesvol influencer is, maar zelf kampt met onzekerheden en paniekaanvallen. Dat geeft veel diepte aan het personage, maar ook aan het onderwerp. Flashbacks laten ons zo nu en dan iets weten over de vriendschap die Emma en Cecilia (toen steevast Sissy genoemd) hadden. Ze beloofden elkaar nooit te verlaten. Helaas stookte er toen al een ander meisje in hun band: Alex. En laat zij ook net op het feestje te zijn. Dat dit vrijgezellenfeest zich afspeelt in een select gezelschap, in een afgelegen villa in de Australische binnenlanden, zorgt voor een beklemmend sfeertje. Dit biedt een hoop ruimte voor een goede horror, zo blijkt in Sissy. Bij sommige influencers kun je beter snel wegscrollen, of zijn het juist de volgers die niet te vertrouwen zijn? The Nightmare On Elm Street rampage continues. This one isn't honestly one of my personal favorites, but I absolutely understand why it's some fan's favorites. One of the things I do like about it is Freddy still stays scary Freddy like he wants to inflict pain in your dreams. And the pool party scene is really the best part of the movie. The special effects still look awesome! That said I do miss following Nancy's story, the subtitle does end up feeling pointless with it not relating that much to the original movie, and it does feel more rushed to capitalize on how good the first movie was. That said, it is one I respect the hell out of even if it's not my personal favorite. I do think there's great things in this one, but the difference from the first movie? Not exactly Romeros best effort, but oddly interesting all the same. Joan (Jan White) leads a tortured existence as a lonely housewife. Her husband, Jack (Bill Thunhurst) is emotinally unavailable and often away on business. Their daughter Nikki (Joedda McClain) is a 19-year old who does what she wants. Joan years for change and when she encounters a modern day witch she leaps at the opportunity presenting itself. This film is very much a social commentary of it's time on liberty, equality and individuality. I recently picked up the #handmadebyrobots #thetexaschainsawmassacre #leatherface ( #prettywoman) #knitseries #vinylfigure on #amazon. It cost about $13 and was worth every penny. I really love the overall design, and I am pleased that @hmadebrobots got the color of his jacket right (unlike some #neca products). I also love the improved details on the handle of the saw. Unfortunately, the handle is the wrong color. It isn't supposed to be yellow in this outfit, but rather a lime green. This #figure also doesn't have the bracelet on his left arm. I know it would be hard to sculpt, but it would have been a nice detail to have. Overall tho, I really love this guy and am happy to add him to my #horror collection. Hopefully, @hmadebrobots will do some more versions of Leatherface for the 50th anniversary of the #movie. I would love a bloody version of this outfit and one with his old lady mask.
