The Clippers have tied the series. 2-2 heading back to LA. We knew Paul George needed to show up without Kawhi Leonard and that's what he did at least for the first half. Scored 26 points in the first half if I'm not mistaken. Absolutely dominated and was on fire especially in that first quarter. When PG is on he's on. That fourth quarter fade away three with that Mavs defender all over him was nuts. He was literally behind the backboard falling out of bounds and its nothing but net. I don't know how he did it but he did. James Harden took over that fourth quarter. Clippers don't win if he doesn't turn the back the clock like he did in the clutch. 14 HUGE fourth quarter points. Attacking the defense and constantly getting those easy floaters and layups at the rim. The Beard was insane. Gotta give him credit where its due. It would have been nice to not blow that 31-point lead but we knew the Mavs were gonna punch back hard. Kyrie did everything he could. Same with Luka. But at the end of the day we were able to weather the storm and come out on top. When their backs are against the wall, never count out the Clippers. Thats when they play their best. Its just holding him back way too much and as sad as it is, its best that he sits until further notice. That being said, Clippers got a basketball game to play. Mavs put their foot on our neck in game 3 and I have no doubt they are gonna try to do the same thing today. If we want any chance of winning, we gotta come out with some pride and aggression. If not then I think this series is over. If we lose this one its gonna be very hard to come back 3-1 especially without your superstar player. He was also considered QUESTIONABLE last game but Kawhi Leonard is once again QUESTIONABLE for game 4. I'm probably gonna get a lot of flack for this but unless he somehow miraculously becomes playoff Kawhi again I don't see a point in playing him. As if that isn't a big enough ask already it's even more so when you consider the mans health and how bad he's looked these past two games. You can just see Kawhi isn't himself and that he's not the same player because of that inflamed knee. The worst part is he's been hurting us more than helping us. I get he's hobbled and kudos for him trying to tough it out but he's playing bad and not contributing. We'll see how Sunday goes but my faith is at an all-time low right. Hopefully Kawhi can prove me wrong but I'm starting to think that maybe he should have never played at all cause not only might we lose to the Mavs but it may not even be worth it. Sometimes I am glad that I have hoarder tendencies. While going through my old bedroom at my parents’ house, I found this ticket stub of the Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko fight I attended at Staples Center over 20 years ago, which turned out to be Lennox’s last professional fight of his career. If you’re wondering why it says “Lewis vs Johnson” on the stub, it’s because Lennox was originally supposed to fight Kirk Johnson on that date, but Johnson got hurt in training camp, paving the way for an even better fight against Klitschko. For those who saw the fight, you may recall that Lennox won by TKO on cuts, after being in big trouble earlier in the fight. Although a legitimate win (since the cut on Vitali was caused by a punch), the general consensus was that Lennox was fortunate to come out with the victory. Rather than agreeing to the rematch everyone was clamoring for, Lennox chose instead to retire, which was a bummer for this boxing fan at the time, but a coup for this memorabilia collector in retrospect. Let game 2 of Clippers-Mavs be a lesson to Ty Lue that he can't keep pulling Russell Westbrook out of the game. If you've watch any Clippers game, you know that Ty limiting Russ minutes is one of the many reasons why many fans get fed up. It's one of the reasons why we've lost and it was definitely one of the biggest factors to that L last night. If y'all remember, we started that fourth quarter with a flurry when Russ was on the court. He was pushing the pace and getting to the rim. He found the open man on the perimeter and in the paint and sparked that offense to get the Clippers out to a 73-67 lead with 9:32 left. All momentum was on our side and so the Mavs call timeout. When they come out of the timeout, Russ ain't on the court anymore and ya know why? Cause Ty Lue didn't want to overplay him. He said that Russ had played too many minutes in a row and wanted to rest him for a little bit. With all due respect, that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Its the playoffs bruh. If Russ needs to play 20+ min in a row you do that every time cause winning is all that matters. Russ don't get tired and he damn well didn't look tired to me. You can't be subbing out the man who helped us build the lead in such an important game. After Russ went to the bench the Mavs went on a 9-0 run and completely took back the momentum. By the time Russ checked back in it was too late. Brodie had the best +/- on the team at +8 and this is how he gets treated? How does he only get 24 minutes? Make it make sense Ty. Bro singlehandedly sabotaged our chance at going up 2-0 in this series because he thought Russ needed a break. Russ cannot be on the bench when he is literally the reason we were starting to play well. Once you take him out everything changes for the worse. If Ty Lue is the "king" of adjustments, he will make the most obvious one come Friday. Keep Russ on the court and play him as much as you need to. I don't care if he has to play 40+ min. The minute Ty Lue took Westbrook out the game I knew we were gonna lose. We literally started off the fourth outscoring the Mavs 7-2 or something like that behind the momentum of Russ. They call timeout then Russ is subbed out? Am I missing something or is Ty Lue just sped? Yeah lemme take out the guy who immediately sparked the offense and helped us build a lead. Can't see how that would backfire.. Y'know what happened after Russ came out? Mavs went on a 9-0 run. Luka and Kyrie starting hitting ridiculous sh*t and we were f*cked pretty much after that. Bro does this over and over and I cannot for the life of me understand why. Ty Lue just completely f*cked the momentum of the game when he made that boneheaded choice. Aside from that, I the Clippers offense was horrific. I don't know if we're gonna shoot this bad again but man 6-28 from three is disgusting. To miss that many shots is quite impressive. And y'know who was impressive? Nobody aside from Russ. Kawhi just didn't have it going and thats to be expected when he hasn't played basketball in over three weeks. Felt like we were trying to force it to him and he didn't want it. PG got in foul trouble. James Harden is just inconsistent. He wasn't making those shots from game 1 and that's my concern with him. He's too hot and cold as a player and when he's bad, he's really bad but he wasn't too terrible especially compared to everybody else tonight. Zubac was in foul trouble and wasn't able to get going until late. I'll give the Mavs some credit. They did play some fantastic smothering defense tonight. They were the way more physical team constantly getting up into the basketball and smacking it away with their hands. That being said, we gotta learn to shoot the ball better to counter that. We lose home court. Now we gotta go into hostile Dallas to try and win one or else we very well could let this series get away from us. The entire team better be in the gym getting up shots. MINHA EXPERIÊNCIA NO STAPLES CENTER Senta que lá vem que história e essa é de arrepiar. Conhecer o Staple Center se tornou um sonho desde 2009. Estar no lugar onde Michael passou seus últimos dias e horas ensaiando a turnê, era algo que eu queria muito. Depois de uma tentativa frustrada, na viagem seguinte decidimos tentar mais uma vez. Naquela noite aconteceria um jogo de basquete entre os times Los Angeles e Phoenix. E meu marido e eu decidimos arriscar e tentar conseguir ingressos de última hora. Chegamos bem antes do jogo, mas infelizmente não tinham mais assentos disponíveis. Eu só tive vontade de chorar, pois, sairia de Los Angeles mais uma vez sem conhecer o Staples. Já estávamos indo embora quando apareceu um homem que nos presenteou com as entradas. Recebemos os ingressos e fomos nos certificar com o segurança se era legal. Ele apenas sorriu e disse que estaríamos no melhor lugar do ginásio. Achamos meio estranho mas entramos e para a nossa surpresa os ingressos eram da área VIP. Estávamos na primeira fila. O que nos separava da quadra, era somente a mesa julgadora. O jogo começou e foi fantástico! Assim como nos filmes, tudo é um verdadeiro show, mesmo que eu não tenha prestado tanta atenção ao que estava acontecendo durante a partida. Enquanto estive ali pude olhar pra cada cantinho e imaginar o Michael. Fechei os olhos e pude ouvia sua voz ecoando durante os ensaios. Eu consegui vê-lo em cada lugar dando o melhor de si com sua melhor energia. A energia que eu pude sentir desde que pisei naquele lugar. Eu revivi This is It. Foi surreal! Ao fim do jogo eu ainda consegui visitar a área interna do Staples e fiquei imaginando Michael andando por aqueles corredores. Por onde chegava, saia, fazia lanche e reuniões. Foi umas das experiências mais incríveis que eu já vivi, graças ao meu marido e a uma pessoa que provavelmente nunca mais irei encontrar na vida. Sou muito grata por isso. Okay what did they put in James Harden cereal today cause imma need him to play like that every game from here on out. That probably ain't happening but man Harden definitely took it personal today. I'm not sure what got into him but he was playing like it was 2019. Him and Westbrook felt like they were turning back the clock. Russ always be bringing the energy so that wasn't a surprise. Paul George showed up late. He wasn't very good for most of the game but when we needed him, he delivered. Made multiple clutch shots in the fourth quarter when it looked like the Clippers were gonna choke the lead away. Did I mention that we was up like 26 at the half and the Mavs were shooting 9-40?? That won't last but it just goes to show not only how much Dallas crapped the bed offensively but how intense we were defensively. At least for the first half cause the second half could have been better. Luka and Kyrie did get it going and gave me a little bit of a scare. Luckily, the Clippers were able to make some key buckets out of Ty Lues timeouts to keep the Mavs at bay. Still got quite a bit of things to improve on most notably the defense and half court offense in the second half but I will take the W all day even if its just one game. Come back better in game 2.
