When I was about 12 or 13, I got it in my head that I wanted to play the drums. It only made sense. My mother is a professional musician so I had been around instruments my entire life and thought learning to play the drums would be the epitome of cool. That Christmas she bought me a complete drum set. Best present ever! (And no, I can’t play the drums, but man can I pretend like nobody’s business!) so of course, today it made perfect sense that I turned part of our basement into my son’s personal practice dojo. I am asked all the time whether I actually make any “real money” with my side business. I’ll admit, I’m not retiring anytime soon on what I make, but yesterday I bought two pairs of boots just because I wanted to, last night I bought my son a new bo staff with cash, and tonight I picked up this beauty. Sometimes the extra money is just random Starbucks or pizzas, but other times it is new sneakers for my son, movie dates, of even groceries. Each month though it enables me to pay my car payment and even splurge on a few extra bells and whistles this time around. Hello moonroof and remote start! With his growing interest in #legos along with a rapidly growing collection of completed #legosets sales be started creating him work surfaces. This is just the start. I converted part of this shelf in his playroom into grassy areas with “water” and “rock” on the way. Then I’m working on a board he can use and store as needed. Love being able to do these random little things for him. #momlife
