Do you agree? Can you imagine that 10 years ago this album was released by underground team of inthusiasts in Vilnius. My good friend Coras, a Lithuanian MC, a graffity writer and photographer moved from his home city Klaipeda, and we together started preparing material in mid of 2007. It was great times for creativity, because we had ambitions, we wanted to make own impact in our small Hip Hop community and show how mix of jazz, electronic music and real rap can be blended. Me and Coras would spend days in my room (so called home studio) creating - me doing beats on spot, Coras rhyming. You know that feeling when there is an instant pure energy in the place. All recorings was made at our good friend and Lithuania composer Corbie studio, which at that time was in a old Catholic Church basement in the old town. Corbie also co-produced half of this album, recorded and mixed it. Because of the movement around us and positive vibes we atracted other artists to join the process, singers Ameja and Charle, MC Skazo from Estonia, Gon - a Lithuanian BeatBox champion. We were aming to a quality and innovations in each track. Speaking about the cover, one autumn evening me and Coras would walk in our neighbourhood speaking about life and music. Coras would always bring his camera with him (at that time he had already a cool vision for pictures). To keep story short, he meda a photo of me behind the glass of a Bus stop, when humidity made that glass mudy and leaving only a shadows to appeare. Thats how Monologas cover was created even though i'm on that photo and not the albums main Artist. I could tell more about each song ideas and the process but let them speak by themselves. When I was 15 and visited my cousin, he showed me an album cover that I was immediately intrigued by. It showed a dude with heavy white makeup, the blackest eyeliner and eyeshadow and really red lips. His black hair looked like cotton candy. Neither my cousin nor I knew about the goth or alternative culture, let alone were part of it. When The Cure's music became a part of my everyday life a few years later, I realised that I listened to their music a few years before that. But the first song I consciously listened to was Plainsong - and I fell in love! Not only with Disintegration, but later with most of their albums and their aesthetic. Around 1989, when I was 14, I was gifted with a mixtape with music from a band called Depeche Mode. On the tape were early songs like New Life and Just Can’t Get Enough. But I really started listening to @depechemode when I watched the video of Enjoy The Silence on tv.
