Thirsty Thursday! This stunning Hawkeye STi was purchased off @bringatrailer with it recently having a JDM 2.2L being replaced. It's controlled with a @link_ecu We found that it didn't have a wideband installed/wired into the EMS, so we got it set up with an @aemelectronics in-line X-line wideband, along with a fuel pressure sensor, & found that it was dropping fuel pressure while on the dyno. @motecusa Monday! This gated shifter 06 Gallardo made its way in for some diagnosis, due to it breaking up under load/boost, & an idle surge concern. This system uses the OEM ECU's to run the OEM injectors(10), & the M800 to run the secondary injectors(@injectordynamics ID1700). We found the MAP sensor & wideband failing upon arrival, with the corrosion in the plug connector. Also found that its loading up some cylinders with excessive fuel fouling out the plug(s). How much further can this stock ej20x platform go..? With only 14 psi of boost we already way quicker than I ever thought this platform could go with all stock hardware. Quicker than any other local wrx. Quicker than 90% of local wrx sti and to my knowledge quickest stock Subaru sgt down the ¼ mile, in the world. Social media makes everything glamorous and tricks kids into spending $ that they don't have, on parts that they dont need. I have learnt alot along the way pushing this stock platform. Motor Monday! This old school Ford 2.3L turbo engine came in leaking from everywhere but the left rear tire. We were supplied with a forged short block & ported cylinder head to mate to it. When tearing down the old engine, we found metal chunks in the oil pickup screen. We made sure to port match both, the intake & turbo manifolds, while setting up the exhaust manifold for an EWG. With our Kansas City @chiefs going back to back wins at the @superbowl_2024__58 we're going back to back with another @prochargersuperchargers build on this S550 Mustang. This one came in with a 6-rib P1SC on it, & we upgraded it with a dedicated 10-rib D1X now. Also added in the @procharger_official crank support kit. Since we're running the @radiumengineering dual fuel hanger, it was only natural to outfit it with their dual catch can kit, & coolant expansion tank. We made sure to "modify" some locations of some items, like the placement of those catch cans & expansion tank, as well as build an @mkc_performance overflow can, & position of the race bypass valve. Since we will have the added ponies, we upgraded to the @aadperformance drag pack, coupled with @vikingperformance crusader shocks, @uprproducts billet mounts, @steedaautosports subframe connectors, @driveshaftshop axles, @goodridgeltd stainless steel brake lines, @_whiteline lowering springs, & @maximummotorsports camber plates up front to get the alignment dialed in. FI Friday! We received this 2020 Silverado after a failed lifter took out some main bearings. We upgraded to a @thompson__motorsports 416ci short block. Ported @jpicylinderheads @briantooleyracing stage 3 camshaft & intake manifold Nick Williams 103mm throttle body @mmsolutions dual catch cans to keep the crankcase psi in check Cleaned up the engine bay a little bit with the custom @mkc_performance 4" intake & moved the recirculated @prochargersuperchargers bypass valve. Octane makes all the difference in keeping these small displacement, high output engines alive on crappy pump fuel. In this case 2.0L dual cam, 9.4:1 c/r motor on 90 octane, 475hp capable turbo. Spent a fair bit of time setting up the @link_ecu knock detection system. In the first photo you see significant knock activity with ~17.5 psi, very soft ignition timing and 90 octane. Second photo has more boost ~19.5 psi, and more timing on higher octane, however knock sensors report zero activity. I cannot stress it enough, pick a good engine builder and tuner before you start your build. Have realistic goals and listen to the experience of your builder and tuner. Pump is not race gas. Fab Friday! This J-series swapped S2K made its way in with heat from the turbo's & motor creating a lot of issues with melting the wiring to the fuse box, & the fuse box on the passenger side. As well as melting the vacuum line from the brake booster to the engine on the drivers side, & the ABS module & the carbon hood also. Without redesigning or replacing back with the F motor, we worked with what we had & went from posterboard to some custom heat shields to do our best at keeping the heat at bay from pertinent components. This Evo X made its way in with CEL(P0014), & dying at stops after getting warmed up. We found it to have this horrid chattering noise at roughly 2000RPM's. We tore it down to find part of the exhaust cam gear missing. When digging deeper...we found that piece in the oil pan. Motor Monday! This 2020 Silverado RST made its way in with a main bearing & lifter failure. We upgraded it to a 416ci @thompson__motorsports short block. Fastened down some @jpicylinderheads with some @arpbolts head studs & @cometicgasket To assist with the @prochargersuperchargers airflow, we added a @briantooleyracing stage 3 boost cam & intake manifold, with a Nick Williams 103 throttle body. Sorted out a bunch of DTC (check engine lights) caused by aftermarket exhaust then removed the limitations and inefficiencies in the factory Toyota mapping. The transmission was also remapped to suit the owner's driving style, including quicker upshifts and downshifts, and more efficient pedal mapping to name a few.
