Shout out to this incredible woman right here! @jans_christina is one of the founders of @southshorefemmefest and @livetribesouthshore. She is also the owner of the fabulous @azstudiohingham. Christina has a passion for all things creative on the South Shore, and she has been a major supporter of the music scene here. From her quarterly events at locations like @theparrothull in Hull, and @stellwagenbeer in Marshfield, to smaller monthly pop ups at her salon, Christina has put so many eyes on our amazing community, and has helped it grow so much. The support she gives all of us is immeasurable. She sees the immense talent of our area, and wants to help amplify it in any way she can. She wants these artists to be seen, and to be successful. @southshorefemmefest was the first project we worked on together last year. Christina, along with @graciegracemusic put together a small collection of some of our best female musicians to celebrate the talented women in our community. We packed the Parrot to capacity that day. It was such an incredible experience, and it went so well. We all walked away feeling empowered that day. The goal was always to make it a yearly event. Because it went so well, a new location was needed to accommodate all the new folks interested in attending this year. Femme Fest went even better, and I know big things are on the horizon for the future of this event. I have a good feeling it will keep growing, and will one day be as major as the levitate Music Festival. I am so thankful to have met Christina, and get to work with her on all these amazing projects. It is such a positive experience every single time. I wanted her to know that she has created an amazing community for us, and that we are so thankful for her support and contributions. You have brought so much positivity and kindness to many people including myself. I look forward to the future, and all the other fun things we will work on together. Are Photographer Fees Looming? by Jake Durham The OKC Parks Commission has urged city councilors to decide on a policy requiring photographers to obtain permits and make reservations before taking photos. Although similar regulations exist in other cities, some photographers fear this may adversely affect their businesses. The proposal for the ordinance has raised concerns among many photographers. If approved by the OKC City Council, professional photographers would be unable to photograph in city parks without a permit. A permit would cost $100 per session or $1,000 annually and require a reservation. Additionally, a commercial photo or videography session, such as for a film or magazine shoot, would require a $2000 single-use permit. However, this new regulation would not affect news media, student films, or the general public taking personal photographs in the park. The ordinance addresses photographers damaging vegetation, setting up props, or moving park assets without permission. Furthermore, the proposal will require drone operators to provide proof of an FAA Part 107 license, although drone usage in city parks is subject to approval from the Parks Department director. As of now, there is no scheduled date for this vote.
